In April of 2022, my sewer underneath my home was clogged. It was an emergency that I have this rectified immediately. I called Goshs and they coordinated with other area businesses to fix the issue. A hole was cut into the side of my home and my entire backyard was dug up. Come to find out that it was a problem with the old Orangeburg tiling that the ************** put in a bazillion years ago and the whole City is affected. The entire job cost me almost $8,000 to fix. We put down $600.00 and financed the remaining balance with a finance company through Goshs. We were told by ***** that all costs from all contractors would be included in this final total. We agreed that this would be our best option. Three months later I am being harassed by ***** and two other contractors that I owe them. In addition, ***** is trying to collect an additional $730.00 that they forgot to add in. We called the finance company and a representative there told us not to pay Goshs anything additional. This dirty, bad business from Goshs is incredible! Their workers left all their garbage (from snacks and meals) in my basement, threw their cigarette butts in my yard, and didnt clean up from the mess they made from their construction. I am appalled with their behavior and lack of work ethic!! Never again will I hire Goshs Heating, Plumbing and *************** I dont even know if they did it right!?!

    Good afternoon,

Hope your Monday is going as well as possible.  Mine was going pretty well until I got the mail.  I received a letter from you in regards to a complaint about my business and how our work was done at the customers residence.  I am sorry that I missed the first attempt as we have been a little crazy here having a personal home fire and trying to keep everything working well here at work.

I see that the customer is complaining about the replacement of her sewer that we did.  First off, I had a feeling we shouldn't do the work because of previous here say but we did.  We jumped in feet first to help them get this issue resolved asap.  They did not have a working system so had to go fast to get it taken care of.  Like any customer, it is a big expense so I offered to do financing through a company we work with to help them with the burden of such a large expense all at once.  We included the other contractor for the digging and the contractor for cement.  When we did the original financing, they had paid $600 to us already so I applied that amount to the bill and then did financing for the remainder of what the total was and paid my contractors their amount and then the remaining left was to us.  When we did the financing, they could only finance up to a certain amount so I told them that remaining $730 they could just make payments to us on, that way everyone else was paid and they only had us to deal with and we were more than willing to let them take as much time as needed.  When I tried to call her, I got no response so I messaged here and got a response that she had talked to finance company and somehow, they determined ( how, I don't know) that she didn't owe me that additional that I never was paid.

I thought I was helping them out by only giving them on contractor to deal with but in the end, I am the one who didn't get my final payment.  I finally responded to her that I will write it off as a bad debt and their account with ******* not Gosh's is closed.  I did go ahead and contact the other contractors to see if they had been calling to try to collect and they said no because they were paid by me already so I don't know what that all means about the harassment.  They knew that they had that additional to pay me so no, ******* did not forget to add it in.

Orangeburg was used as our original sewer lines here in Cresco so many years ago and now after wear and tear some are starting to deteriorate just like anything else. They are replaced everyday in all sorts of towns, so it is not just us.

We are a second-generation business, celebrating 51 years this year.  We are by no means a dirty, bad business.  My employee's work very hard, day in and day out and 24-hour emergency service to keep our small community running.  That is very disrespectful to say about my husband and my business.  We have worked so hard to try to keep everyone happy but there are times people are not 100% happy and they usually just call me and let me know.  I am very surprised if my employee's left wrappers or anything in basement and if they did that is not how we do our business and it must have been overlooked.  Also, the behavior comment is ridiculous to me.  Again, our work ethic is beyond the normal everyday expectations and I believe that is why this business is as amazing as it is.  With three contractors working in one location I don't know who's cigarette butts got thrown in the dirt.

I have not heard a word back about the sewer not working but it is a brand-new sewer so there is no reason for it not to be.  We have never done a sewer and it not work.

Sorry it took me so long to respond but hopefully this gives you an idea of the other side of the story.  Thanks and have a great rest of your Monday.

I am rejecting this response because:
Now, in addition to not taking responsibility for their workers and the blatant disregard for professionalism, they are trying to say they didnt even want to do the job. Their business is a hot mess and they need to get their stories straight. If I would have known then what I know now, I would never have called them!
    Sincerely,

Replacing a sewer is not an easy job and it takes several people to do so.  I enjoy seeing pictures of our employees doing their job.  That picture shows exactly what they should have been doing.  They fixed the sewer and that is what we were hired for and that is what we did.  Complaints thrown at our professionalism is confusing to me.  We did everything we said we would do and dropped everything to get it done asap.  I don't know how that isn't professional but at this point I don't have anything else to say.  We corrected the issue for the customer and obviously I was going to contact them in regard to final payment.  They believed it wasn't due so at that point I closed account.
