    My daughter, *****************, was referred to an oral surgeon, Spring Park ***************************** Surgeons. On April 20, 2023, **** and I showed up for her appointment. The front desk person took my insurance cards and told us to wait to be called. They took her back for an x-ray and when they returned, they said she was going to need a different kind of x-ray because one of her wisdom teeth was close to a nerve. We already knew that because the x-ray from the dentist that was sent to them showed the same thing thats why we were there. Meaning the x-ray they took was not even needed. Before they took her for the better x-ray they told us that they are not in network with our insurance and that they needed to check to see what we would be paying. I had no idea they were not in network. The person at the front desk that took my insurance card did not mention that at all. I told them that I was not aware of that and had I known, we would not have even made an appointment with them. They said that they have in their notes from when my daughter made the appointment, that they told my daughter they were not in network, but what they told her was that they didnt know what our insurance would cover and they would let us know at the appointment. There was absolutely no mention of this before they took the x-ray that wasnt needed. We did not get the better x-ray and left the appointment before any other services were given. We have since received a bill for $179.00 for the unneeded x-ray that they took. I called them as soon as I received the bill and told them that I was not going to pay for an x-ray that was not even needed. They offered to cut the bill in half, but I said I was not going to pay at all. The office manager, ****, told me that the person above her would call me to discuss the issue, but I never received a call, so I thought they just canceled the bill. I now have received the bill again, talked to them again, and they will not cancel the bill for us.
