In the Fall of 2022, we signed two contracts with Reed Construction. One for a custom island and one for windows. For the first contract Reed Construction committed to building a mobile custom island for our kitchen and dining room area. We put $3,100 dollars down for this contract. The custom island is not mobile. Before making the final payment, we asked Reed Construction to replace the wheels they put on the island with wheels that would function to make it mobile. *********************** was not interested in resolving the mobility problem we had with the custom island. He stated his employees were not engineers and no warranty would be provided for the work on the mobile custom island. In the second contract Reed Construction committed to installing a vinyl replacement window to the West side for the 2nd story office. This window was to be finished off with * channeling and aluminum clad siding to fit around the * channel. We put $3,575 down for this contract. The replacement window is the wrong size, no * channel or aluminum clad siding were ever installed. *********************** refused to discuss the work needed to complete the window contract. Instead, his response was to file a Mechanic's Lien on our property. We have worked with Reed Construction in the past on three other contracts and always paid our bill promptly once the work was completed to our expectations and satisfaction. The contracts in dispute are attached with the Mechanic's Lien and are marked Exhibit A. We have also attached a detailed letter explaining our issues with making the final payment on the two contracts. Our goal is to reach an amicable solution quickly. We have listed our options to resolve this dispute with Reed Construction in our detailed letter. We would appreciate any assistance the Better Business Bureau could provide us to settle our dispute with Reed Construction.Thank you for your time and efforts - **** and *************************
