June 22, 2024 I brought a 73' ***** 125 motorcycle in for repair. The technician working said they would call with an update.2 weeks had passed,no call,so I called them, I was told the carb was removed, currently soaking.2 weeks later I had not received a call,so I called again to find out still haven't really touched it, carb was still soaking. All I got was a bunch of "lip service" about they could repair it so I left it up to them to find what was needed, and finish the job, however 4 weeks later I called to check the progress and the carb was still soaking and no parts had been ordered. I discussed ordering parts online where I had seen availability, they declined. They gave me another "promise" they would have it finished up in the next couple weeks and I gave them an ultimatum,if they could not repair it THIS time, I would find another place to get the work done. The day before I was to pick it up,I called and spoke with the owner,he informed me the work had not been completed, nothing else had been done and I ended the conversation by telling him I would be picking up my motorcycle the next day. When I arrived my cycle was disassembled, there were pieces and parts taken off and left, which will now require extra work in the future. My motorcycle was in worse shape than when I had originally dropped it off, and on top of that I was given an invoice for over $300. I contested the charge immediately with the owner. I wondered how he phantomed up charges after not repairing a thing, while "ripping" my motorcycle apart and now leaving me my motorcycle in pieces, but hes charging me? He mumbled his way through nonsense trying to justify the "work" that was done. I made it clear you better not bill me. I received an invoice last week. I should not have to pay the invoice based on the fact nothing was fixed and honestly, to give my motorcycle back in pieces is completely unacceptable. I took in a fully assembled motorcycle! I'm not exactly sure what I'd be paying for?!

In response to the complaint that you have on file.

Mr. ****** dd bring his old ***** motorcycle into us to get running, but said that there was no

hurry on it. We did fit the repair into our schedule as we could. After tearing apart the carburator

and the related parts we discovered that the unit did set for a long time and that it indeed needed

quite a lot of work. Our technician did try to get the carburator cleaned, as it was very bad with

and plugged with varnish from all the bad gas setting in it over a long period of time. We did try to

get a correct kit to rebuild the carburator, but these parts at the time were very hard to get. The customer

did say that he had another individual that could get some parts on amazon, and I informed his that

often we did not have much luck using ****** or **** for getting the correct parts. After discussing

the situation we did decide to bill him some labor for what we discovered, as we do have to pay our

technician to do what we did. It was his decision to pull the machine from us, was rather unreasonable

towards us, not allowing us to try to finish what we needed to do. These older machines are very

difficult to get parts for and we do the very best that we can. We do what we can for all our customers.

Our new policy going forward is a down payment before we start any work. After speaking to most

powersports dealers they choose not to work on any of these older models, because of these situations.

We do offer this service to assist people as needed.

      Thank you

I am rejecting this response because:

Unless the business is agreeing to clear the current balance from the invoice I received to $0. I am rejecting their response.

I am being asked to pay for a service that was not provided. The labor description is not accurate, I didn't even get an estimate, which is why no down payment was needed. There was no indication any work was being done or could be done, that I could have agreed too because they didn't contact me. I did not agree to let them tear my motorcycle apart and leave it. After picking up my motorcycle I hired another business to correct and provide additional repairs due to the neglect when it was in their possession. I can provide a bill and explanation upon request.

My grandfathers vintage motorcycle was neglected and abandoned, and most likely forgotten by the business which is why I had no choice but to retrieve it. And I believe the business was hoping I would discard the motorcycle,  after they "got in over their head" by not having the skills/ability to diagnose or repair it, and tried to make up excuses to avoid telling me the truth. I should not be obligated to pay due to the circumstances.

At this point, Im trying to be fair, and move on.

      Sincerely,

      ****** ******
