We had all new windows and doors installed when we bought this house. We were told life time warranty. Weve been trying to get somebody to come and look at our complaint for the last three weeks. First we were told the repair guy lived in ********** and would stop on his way home. Never showed up. Then we called again anf the told he was sick. But would try when he returned to work. I tried to call again and wanted to speak to the boss. She said he was busy. Its hard to believe that they have only one repair man and doesnt even live in **********. I am submitting this complaint for my Mom:************************************ ********************************************************** She had new windows installed many years ago with a lifetime warranty full coverage, and have had some issues with moisture forming between the glass. In the past company would cover warranty and make the repairs with no problems. About one year ago, my Mom had issues again with moisture between the glass, I called the company and was told they would order parts and would get repairs done. Weeks went by and never heard from company, I called company to be told parts still hadn't arrived. Months went by, again no word from company, I called company to be told they received parts but are trying to find them as when parts were shipped they were not marked for identification so they would have to look. After 8-10 months of this, I called company back in February and again in March to be told they have parts but no one to do the repair work. For the last month I have called to be told still ** one to do the repair work, and I have asked to talk to the manager several times and was told they would call me that Friday or that following Tuesday, again no one attempted to call.The girl that answers the phones is no help and has no clue what is going on along with the so called manager of this location. When calling this company and you can't get past the person that answers phones and no manager call back, it's impossible to get any type of customer service. My Mom would like the repairs to be done or be reimbursed for this window or cost of repairs.From other negative reviews for this company, how can they sell the product but not install it or cover warranty?Initial Complaint

Original Invoice # ***-E2876 We purchase a full ********************* Premium Vinyl Windows in 2006 from ************ **********. These windows come with a lifetime warranty. We have had trouble with our bathroom window. We spoke to a gentleman at the **** State Fair in 8/2023. We followed his directions, called with ID number and were told they would order it. I have called each month to check on status. In October of 2023 I was told the replacement shashes were in. I was told "they didn't have an installer but one from KC would be here in 2 weeks." I have called each month since and get no install date. Today I called again and the receptionist said her boss would return my call. Didn't happen. We just need our replacement sashes installed. One of the windows that I purchased from Farm and Home builders is defective and under warranty. Farm and Home ordered a replacement window sash in July, 2023 and they received it in September, 2023. I've been waiting over 4 months for them to replace it. I've called and followed up with them 7 times. They say I'm on the list for service and will have someone call me. No one ever calls me back. They are not able to tell me an approximate timeframe of when they can do the replacement but say it should be soon. When I ask if I can talk with someone directly involved with the replacement they say I can't. I would like your involvement since I'm not getting anywhere with them and this company is listed as an A+ rating but not performing like one.Initial Complaint

Aug. 4, 2020, I spent $ ******* on windows for my house. One window has the seal broken in it and there is humidity in-between the panes of the window. I ordered a new window Feb. 3, 2023, and it still is not here. I called them Aug. 1, 2023 about the current window and another window that doesn't latch. I have called multiple times and they always give me an excuse. The latest was before Thanksgiving and I was told that the warranty is being handled by an outside firm and that I would be getting a call from them before Thanksgiving to it fixed. I am still waiting for the call. I stopped by their office Nov. 27, 2023 and was told by the girl working that it is being handled by *****************************, Vice-President of Farm & Home Builders, **** But he doesn't return any of my phone calls either.The windows are not worth the price of a lifetime warranty if their isn't any warranty on them.Business Response

The office manager in our KC location said that she had already responded to this complaint through the website but this is also completed. Both our installer and one of the owners of Farm and Home Builders worked directly on this project. New materials were ordered and were promptly brought out to the customers residence and installed resolving the previous issues with their window.

Windows were purchased approximately 25 years ago with a lifetime warranty. Four of the windows have clouded over, one additional does not open, one additional does not stay open when raised, and one additional when trying to pull in to clean falls out of the window. We have made several attempts to contact the business to invoke the warranty but are continually told they have no one to come out to look. Contacts made: 8/16/23 at 9:50am (was told someone would come out that day but received neither a visit or a call), called again at 3:53pm (was told he wouldn't be coming); 8:24/23 12:57pm (left msg but no return call); 9/8/23 12:26pm; 9/19/23 1:49pm. On 9/20/23, I drove to their office in the hopes a face to face meeting would be helpful, but again was told that no was available to help, but we are on a list. That was over 30 days ago and no contact has been made.Business Response

We have been in contact directly with this customer. They were unable to provide us with the serial numbers off theri windows so that we could file a claim for them through their manufacturer's warranty, we were able to send an installer out and get the necessary information in December. As soon as the materials arrive we will be able to complete this repair.

There was no contact made by Farm & Ranch to obtain serial numbers for the windows. This is the first Ive heard of having to file a claim through the manufacturers warranty. On 12/5/23, I was contacted by a contractor stating he was on the way to the house to repair the windows. He stated his only objective was to repair the windows that would not open. He took information on the windows that were clouded over and said he would report the information back to Farm & Ranch and they would most likely need to order parts as it was his opinion the seals were broken. That was the one and only attempt Farm & Ranch has made to resolve the situation. We have heard nothing since 12/5/23.
If this is not resolved by 5/1/2024, and I mean all windows repaired,a lawsuit will be filed.

Farm and Home Builders has always provided a lifetime manufacturer's warranty. Following the instructions in their warranty paperwork would have led them to file a claim through the manufacturer. Farm and Home Builders can and will assist in filing these claims but nothing can be ordered without the serial numbers. Upon their original contact with Farm and Home they would have been told about needing serial numbers as we cannot order anything for them without the serial number which would have been why we needed to send someone out in the first place. Materials are on order with the manufacturer, when materials are in we will make contact to set up a time for installation.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: Im not rejecting the plan of action, but I was never told to file a claim with the manufacturer, nor was I ever contacted for serial numbers. My original contact with you was on 8/16/23 and your first contact was sending out a contractor on 12/5/23 to repair windows that wouldnt open. He said he would report back to you the necessary information to get the broken seals replaced. Parts should have been ordered at that time. Were now another 4 months into this, for a total of 8 months. I will be happy when I can again see out of the windows and thats all Im asking.

I have contacted them to do warranty work on several windows (12) starting in January of 2023. Since 1st contacting them in January I have additionally called them to address my issues at least 9 more times. In the 10 months i have been told that they do not have any employees able to come and repair my issues. "We have not been able to hire anyone to do this work for over a year" This business is still operating in ********** and ***********. This company was in fact selling windows in August at the State Fair. If they have workers to install new windows at their disposal I have a hard time understanding why these same people cannot fix the windows they install. At the ********** my daughter spoke with the president of the company and he informed her he would contact me to resolve this. That was in August and i have yet to receive a call from anyone with their company. Today my son called again to try and resolve this. The person he spoke with could offer no answers to when we would hear back from them, when they would be able to repair the issues, or when anyone would be in the office that could speak with me about this situation. With offices in two large cities I don't see why they wouldn't share resources and get these taken care of.? I need my windows repaired and feel i have been more than patient.Business Response

I purchased windows and siding from Farm and Home with a lifetime warranty. 1 of my windows won't stay open and there is a hole in my siding. We had a set of sliding glass doors installed in our lower level in 2012. It was a lifetime warranty for parts/labor. We had issues with what we thought was the door lock sometime in 2021. When we noticed the sliding door actually sagging, we contacted Farm & Home Builders (around June 2022). They had a repairman/service man come out and look at it at that time and he thought it was probably the rollers that needed replaced. We have tried to follow up with *****, the owner, several times since then and also have made multiple calls into their office and have received zero updates and no one has been sent to repair the problem. This is ******* and there is a gap at the bottom of the sliding door which lets snow and/or rain in. This could potentially cause a lot more damage than ************. We are happy with the product, but we are getting nowhere with getting our sliders fixed.Business Response
