    We contracted Giese Roofing Co to fix a leak in the roof around our skylight and they sent a group of men to do so. Assuming they had taken care of things we hired a plasterer and painter to repair the indoor ceiling damage that had occurred from the leak. However, within two weeks the first rain that we experienced showed that the roof was still leaking and this damaged the ceiling we had just repaired. We contacted the company and they subsequently sent a man to evaluate and he said there was nothing he could do. No further work was done and they did not repair the roof as promised. We then had to contract with another person to do the job and repair the roof. We have since sold this house. Giese Roofing is now seeking payment of $1471.25 for a job that was never done.

    Please see my response regarding the claim listed above stating regarding repair issues.

     

    Giese Roofing was contacted by ************ in the fall of 2021 requesting an inspection of his skylight leak. There was a tarp covering the skylight to prevent further leakage at the time of our inspection. After our inspection we provided the attached quote to ************ stating two options for repairs within our capabilities. We were later contacted by ************ to complete the roof repairs.

     

    In March of 2022, we sent our employee onsite to begin repairs of the roof. Once our employee removed the tarp he discovered there had been previous attempts to repair the skylight and the area surrounding it. We were able to seal the drainage weeps, clean and apply new caulk (Option 1) but were unable to complete any additional work because the damage from the previous repair attempts was too severe. We contact ************ to inform him the issue is with the skylight (glass contractor) and not the roof surrounding it. He would have to replace the skylight to prevent future leaks. We sent ************ the attached invoice discounting the quoted amount because we completed the repairs using one employee not two as indicated on our quote.

     

    Giese Roofing does not provide a warranty for roof leaks on existing roofs in which we were not the installation contractor. We sent a fair bill for the labor and materials incurred to ************.
