  We are sorry that the *** Safecoat Zero Voc paint did not appear to match your existing painted walls. 
  
  Matching paint colors, especially to previously painted walls, requires an actual swatch from your wall so it could be custom tinted. When you ordered paint from Green Building Supply, you told us to match a ******************************* color and that is what we did. It is no surprise that the *** paint color and sheen did not match your existing walls perfectly. This was not the fault of the manufacturer. 
  
  All paint tends to fade over time due to UV light degradation, and therefore matching old paint, even with the exact color name and number from the same manufacturer, is extremely difficult or impossible. In addition to fading, the sheen of the paint, surface absorption, and paint chemistry may all noticeably change the color of paint over time. For all of these reasons, it is nearly impossible to match new paint colors to old colors. 
  
  In this case we were asked to match a ******************************* color with an *** pearl ************** communicated, at the time of purchase, that we were not able to locate your original order to confirm exactly which paint, sheen and color the original gallons were tinted to. We had to consider that the original order was placed with a different retailer. 
  
  *** made your specific colors in the pearl ****** as requested, and matched them to the ******************************* color cards/swatches. In order to verify that the color was accurately tinted, we requested that *** Safecoat show us the sample of the paint that they tinted. This was possible because whenever they make paint for a customer, they apply a drop of paint onto the color card so it is easy to see how well it matchesand it was perfect. This proved that your colors were accurately tinted to the name and number on the card.
  
  We are sorry this was not understood before you ordered. You can certainly use the paint as a base coat should you decide to order a custom color. The best way to get a perfect color match would be to provide a real sample from your existing walls. Even then, it is extremely difficult to guarantee a perfect match to the color and the sheen of old paint.
