      January 3rd I put $530 in my checking account bringing my balance up to $224. January 4th mediacom billed my account $221 which should have left me with a little over $3. Instead I have an overdraft fee from paying medciom when I had enough money in my account. This is not the first problem I've had with them over this. I told them next time I would go to better business bureau and find a new bank. They take money out for $5 randomly for atm charges when I have NEVER used an ATM that's not free. This company definitely needs looked at I'll be calling when they open request they fix the issue then I will closing my account with them. Had a teller call me hours after I left before telling me she gave me to much money and she overdrafted my account to fix it. Yea she never gave me extra money she was covering her drawer and used me for it I was ******. Called the bank manager. I don't know if she got fired but I definitely don't see her anymore.

      The complaint states ******************, our member, made a deposit of $530 on 1/03/23 to his overdrawn checking account. After the deposit his balance was $224.89 and he believed his Mediacom bill for $221 would clear leaving him a balance of $3.89.  In actuality the authorization for his Mediacom transaction was on 1/03/23 before his deposit was made when his account was negative $305.11. The Mediacom transaction and fee for paying the item, posted to his account on 1/04/2024.  When ****************** spoke to our Branch Manager she explained how transactions clear accounts and as a courtesy refunded the fee for clearing the item.  He told her that he is aware.  We (Citizens Community Credit Union) disclose all fees for services at the time of account opening, they are posted on our website or can be requested any time at any of our locations.

       

      The fee for clearing the item that caused the overdraft was returned on 1/04/2023. We believe this issue has been resolved.

      I am rejecting this response because:
      Just read what they're saying. I put money in my account on the 3rd then I get an overdraft fee on the 4th when mediacom comes threw. They can say it's because it was pending before the money was in there all they want but that doesn't happen on other transactions they pick and choose when they do that.Yes it was pending in my account before the money was in there but the money was in there before it processed. The money was in there on the 3rd it got processed on the 4th then they tried to tell me the overdraft fee was my fault. If that's how they want to do it they need to be a lot more consistent because 90% of the time that it's processing I don't get a fee until after it's been processed as long as the money is in there before it's been processed I do not get a fee usually. But she wants to tell me that's how their system works why doesn't it work like that the other 90% of the time? They also said that it was only fans that gave me the only draft fee not mediacom Yet you can see in the screenshot this specifically says mediacom.  I have been banking there since I was 15 years old this has happened on 3 separate occasions where they overdraft me when they should not have I have no problem paying the fee when it's my fault. 3 separate times they have messed up and She tells me next time they won't correct it Even though the 3 times since I was 15 has been their fault that I have asked them to correct. This is a terrible f****** business.

      Yes sorry forgot to mention that. They did but she was rude and I had to argue about it and bring up BBB. I wouldn't have a problem if they were consistent. Sorry to have had to involve a third party. I was referred to do this next time this occurred I'm not the only person who has the same issue with citizens. At this point just warn future people of this business or whatever it is you do. Again sorry and thank you
