Servpro was hired by me to provide restoration and cleaning following a small fire that occurred 6/3. They originally billed me for services that were not performed. I questioned them on it and adjustments were agreed to. However during my questions, I also asked if the amount paid for the cabinets remained the same as the estimate that I had obtained.**** stated it was but refused to provide an invoice for my records. I got one directly from ********** and identified a coupon used. **** states that Servpro is entitled to those funds despite lying about the invoice matching and profit already included in the estimate provided by insurance. When I pushed, **** then revised the invoice and punitively increased amounts due on other items and still did not reduce the price of the cabinets though he states on the invoice that its the sale price. The invoice attached from ********** shows the final amount paid including tax is $2,163.19.Despite my disagreement with amounts due, I have paid the invoice as **** made it very clear that if payment wasnt received by the end of the month, that late fees would be incurred. I am due a refund in the amount of $507.26 which is the difference between the original estimate and the final price for the cabinets.

At the ending of April a room in my basement flooded. I called ServePro Cedar Rapids out on a Saturday and they came out. I was charged $150 for a weekend call. This was fair. I hired ServePro Cedar Rapids to move boxes and furniture out of the room. The day I paid for the weekend call I was charged a deposit for of $350.00 for the work that was to be done. $198 was charged for the disposal fee and $152 (for three hours of work) was for the two workers that were coming to work. I was told that I would ONLY be charged for the work that the workers would do. If they worked an hour I would be charged an hour... etc After I paid them the deposit via a credit card it was hard to get in touch with them todo the work. On May 20th weeks after I paid the deposit I finally got someone to talk to me and we scheduled work for that Tuesday at 1pm. The workers showed up directly at 1pm. Because it took them so long to get back to me most of the items that were to be moved were already moved as I couldn't have the items just sitting in water. There wasn't much for them to move and it took them 30 minutes of work and they left. I'm being told that I'm going to get $5.** back as a refund. This is not correct. They only worked 25 minutes then I'm do $126.33 refund. I would like my refund. They have stopped responding to me.

Our condo experienced a dishwasher leak in October 2023, which damaged cupboards, trim, and flooring. Servpro was contacted, and they provided mediation of the water. They then assured us that they could take care of all of the necessary repairs and that they would work with our insurance company once we filed a claim. It took six months for this small job to finally be completed. The original contractor on the job was eventually fired as he did not come to perform the work as promised. He did assure us, though, that we would only be billed for work actually performed. When we received the final bill, it was just a copy of the insurance estimate. There was work on this estimate that was not completed, yet Servpro is still expecting us to pay for it. We had to ask for an actual invoice from Servpro numerous times, and when we finally received one, it is obvious that they just spread out the cost of the work not done between the jobs actually completed. They cannot answer our questions of what additional work was performed or why their charges differ from the estimate. They only provide general comments like sometimes certain parts of the job cost more and sometimes they cost less.

I called Servpro to tarp damaged areas of my house after a tree fell on the house. They only tarped one small portion of the damage, then asked me to sign a form saying they'd been there and tarped. This was a sneaky way to get me to sign a form that was actually a contract to have them perform the repairs. I sent a letter the next day saying I did not want them to do the repairs and to send me a bill for the work performed (about 20 minutes of work to tarp a 4' x 5' portion of the roof. See the pictures in the attached document to see what little they did and what they left open. For this they billed me over $650. I talked to our insurance adjuster who said they have standard prices for that kind of stuff and that he'd contact them. State farm subsequently sent $173 directly to them. They then billed me for the remainder and ultimately threatened to trash my credit rating if I did not pay.My complaint is twofold. First, I think they charged me way over the industry standard to punish me for not having them do the repairs. Second, I think theyre using deceitful business practices by presenting a form to sign saying its to verify that work was performed when in reality its a contract to have them perform subsequent repairs.
