    Sharpless Auctions does not do a very good job highlighting when there is a defect with an item. It would take very little time to take a few extra pictures if something is broken. Items auctioned on Sunday are required to be picked up on Monday but Sharpless is only open for inspection (Tuesday thru Saturday 9-3pm) so if you want to inspect an item for the next up coming auction you can't do it at the time of pick up, you have to make a special trip in.

    I have bought numerous items in the past years and have had several things that are broken and worthless. One example was described as "Storage bins with lids" but it was missing the lids. I have learned I am taking my chances whenever I bid on an item thru this auction site.

    Purchased two items over weekend 10/15/22. Won Lot # : 6389 - 108 Sq Ft Waterproofing Membrane for $40. Stopped on Tuesday over noon hour. This is within 4 hours of the opening following my missed Monday pickup. Item was not available. Requested refund, I was told there would be no refund. Reversal of credit card was my option.
    Later received a call from Sharpless stating they would allow reversal. We both mutually agreed that we would not be doing future business.
    Sharpless has many cameras at their locations and has an obligation to make reasonable effort to protect purchases at their place of business.
    Purchases are well over $10K over the last year and half.
    This could have been handled differently. Customer from years back in Iowa City. Customer relations are lacking. Now, awaiting letter from credit card company of refund.

    Most of what Todd said is true. He did purchase 2 items from the 10/15/22 online auction. And he did not pick up those items on the specified pick up date & time. As stated in our terms & conditions Todd agreed to before bidding as well as it being in print on the bottom of his invoice he received via email and in person "pick up time is Monday October 17 from 9am to 6pm.....ITEMS NOT PICKED UP BY 6PM Monday October 17 WILL BE FORFEITED" If an items is missing on the specified pick up date (date & times listed at the bottom of all invoices) we do offer the customer a refund. At the end of that pick up
    day all items not picked up by customers are moved to one area in each building so they are not in way so the staff then can begin setting up for the next auctions. We sell 3000+ items a week and have a schedule to keep and polices in place for that schedule.
    We do have cameras in certain locations as Todd mentions. However there are no cameras in building 3 where his items were sold.
    Todd and I did speak on the Tuesday (10/18/22) afternoon he came in to pick up his items. Todd went out to bldg 3 to pick up his 2 items to find one of them was missing. He was then told by another employee & myself he would not receive a refund because his items were not picked up on the pick up day. He then left.
    I then spoke to Todd on 10/30/22 on the phone regarding his purchase dispute. I told him I would let the dispute play out and suspend his bidding privileges, to which Todd said he was expecting. I never said I would "allow reversal" of his charges.
    I do think we do a great job to "protect purchases" as Todd mentions. But the customers also have to do their part and follow the terms & conditions they agree to before their bidding is approved for each and every auction they register for. This policy is for every customer and not based on their length of time or dollars spent as a customer.
