Petland offers the highest price for puppies with hereditary conditions that they won't get covered for in the warranty when you get the puppy by their policy. My puppy is still within the 3 year warranty for having surgery to correct a hereditary condition and the warranty office is giving me the run around to pay for it like they said they would. Worst service ever and can't trust any of the managers

Petland works with the top breeders in the country. We take this responsibility very seriously. We
are committed to the pets we serve. In order to adhere to the warranty, certain guidelines must
be observed. Per the warranty should a congenital or hereditary condition be diagnosed, in the
first year, the customer is eligible for 100% medical reimbursement up to the purchase price. In
the second year should a congenital or hereditary issue arise the customer is eligible for 50%
medical reimbursement of the original purchase price, with this amount being reduced to 25% in
the third year. We also offer a lifetime program that requires the pet to adhere to a healthy diet
with regular vet checks etc.... The customer signed the contract accepting these conditions.

The medical issue was made worse because the pet was OBESE, per the vet of their choice.
Our Veterinarian suggested that the problem, more than likely, would not have been as bad, if
weight was under control. At the time of the original vet check, the puppy had no signs of clicks
or luxations in the knee joint. The recommended weight for the pet was ***** pounds. The pet
weighed 62 pounds at the time of the most recent check up. Pet was living on a diet of food
scraps as opposed to a balanced diet as indicated in the contract this customer signed. This
could be considered neglect. Rather than ignore the situation the store offered 25% of the
purchase price in monetary medical compensation.

This exceeds the warranty at every level. This claim should have been denied. The store put
the wellbeing of the pet over everything else. The customer refuses to see their responsibility in
this issue. Petland will adhere to the offer made but will not exceed it. We sincerely hope they
modify the pets diet to ensure longevity for the pet.

We have documentation from the customers current Veterinarian supporting what we have
stated above.  We can provide if necessary.
