We bought a vehicle on May 3, 2024, I asked if it had been in an accident because it had a rebuilt title, I was told no that it was hail damage, so we test drove it and it drove good. After paying for it the check engine light came on and we took it back they said they would get it fixed. I ran the vin number on the vehicle and found out it had been in an accident, and it was totaled. My insurance agent said the insurance would not pay 100% if it was in an accident. They did say they would give me my money back. we went to get the money and found a vehicle with clean title. Bought it on May6 2024. We took back on May8 2024 because it was having problems, they said they would fix it. we left and again it started doing the same thing so we dropped off May 10 and picked up May 12. Drove about 600 miles and again same problem. I called and ******* said that we could drop it off and they would try and fix it. She said sometimes it takes more than one time. I told her that it should have been fixed since they guy drove my car 90 miles while he fixed it. So, I took it to my mechanic, and he fixed it. They gave us a warranty, but I cannot trust these people to fix it. I did ask her for my money back she said no. I did call a day or two before this and asked if they buy back vehicles because we thought we would need the money as my husband was going to lose his job, but they never called me back and I never called them again about that. We are keeping it and got it fixed right the first time. They lied about the first vehicle, but we gave them a second chance and I wish we would have taken the check for the first one and went somewhere else.Business Response

THIS CUSTOMER LEFT OUT SOME KEY DETAILS ON HER STRESSFUL EXPERIENCE WITH US. THE **** THAT HER VEHICLE WAS PICKED UP AND REPAIRED ON A SUNDAY BY ANOTHER MECHANIC BECAUSE WE WERE ON A TRIP. THE **** THAT YES HE HAD TO PICK IT UP FROM OUR SHOP TO TAKE IT TO HIS & BRING IT BACK PLUS DRIVE TO CHECK IT ON A SUNDAY FOR HER TO COMPLAIN THAT HE DROVE IT 90 MILES. THE **** HE PUT MORE GAS IN IT THAN WHEN IT WAS DROPPED OFF. THE **** THAT SHE WAS GIVEN A 50/50 WARRANTY ON A USED VEHICLE AND WAS NOT CHARGED FOR A MECHANIC TO WORK ON A SUNDAY, WE PAID THAT BILL. I REALIZE THAT A VEHICLE NEEDING REPAIRED COULD BE STRESSFUL BUT I THINK WE WENT ABOVE & BEYOND TRYING TO MAKE IT AS LESS STRESSFUL AS POSSIBLE TO GET HER BACK ON THE **** AND I AM BAFFLED THAT THIS CUSTOMER CAN NOT APPRECIATE THE STEPS WE TOOK WHILE GONE ON A WEEKEND AT NO CHARGE TO HER. LIFE IS GOING TO HAVE STRESSFUL SITUATIONS DOES NOT MEAN YOU ARE ENTITLED TO, SHOULD EXPECT OR SHOULD YOU ASK TO BE PAID FOR THEM. BECAUSE OF CUSTOMERS LIKE YOU IT MAKES US REALLY APPRECIATE THE GOOD CUSTOMERS WE HAVE AND THAT IS SOMETHING TO BE THANKFUL FOR. WE WILL NOT REFUND HER ANY MONEY.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: First off we were told their mechanic would be fixing it I never gave permission for someone else to fix it. Also We were told by ***** that because this happened within 7 days there was no charge. I want to see a copy of the bill from the other business because they never tell the truth. The first tried to sell us a car that had been in wreck and totaled but we were told that it was hail damaged. I sent a picture and told them they lied to us so they gave us the money back and yes we should have ran but no we gave them a second chance and look what happened. I can bet if I had not found that info on the first car they would not have gave us back the money. They knew what they did. I think they should get ahold of that so called other mechanic and get their money back, bet that wont happen because there probably was not another shop. When I talked to them when it started doing the same thing she said that he had to drive it to make sure it was fixed not once did she say that some other mechanic had worked on it. Since he said it was free because it happened in the first 7 days then that issue should have been paid for by them since they could not fix it right. They can lie to whoever they want to I know that they are lying to make them look good but I know they are crooked people that will s**** you as much as they can. I figured they would try what ever they could to keep from paying anything. The 50/50 warranty should not even come in yet since this was not fixed the first or second time they had it to fix it,
Sincerely,

About a week and a half ago I purchased a used truck from preferred auto sales and after we agreed on our price,( which I paid his asking price) he assured me whatever was needed to fix was taken care of and it was good to go. When I got home, I made an appointment with my local mechanic Took it up to him and he looked it all over and give me a repair estimate of over $8000 in repairs that were needed. Some repairs are needed immediately as it is unsafe to drive according to my mechanic. So I sent an email back to the dealer asking him to purchase the truck back with no response or at least help me with the repairs again no response , I realize this is a used truck but I think he took advantage of me because he told me the truck was good and reliable which it is not. So I would like for him to either take the truck back and I told him Im willing to take a small loss on it or help with repairs. still waiting for a response three days later.Business Response

Email from customer went to junk mail and the first one was 7:14pm after hours. We receive hundreds of junk emails daily not something we look at. We did not receive a phone call from customer. ************************* pulled vehicle history report, he was told it was a rebuilt that it had been damaged and shown pictures of the damage and the repairs we made to fix it over text message before ever coming down to look at vehicle. He was given the same courtesy as all our customers to look it over & under, look under the hood & drive it before he purchased. This vehicle was aligned and i included the alignment receipt from a facility in *********** that we had to drive it to & from. After purchase ****************** drove the truck back home which is roughly 2 hours from us, leaving his vehicle behind as he did not have another driver. He called to say he had made it back & would like a copy of the carfax report when he returns for his vehicle. customer came back following day for his vehicle and was asked how he liked the truck said he loved it and was given the copy of the carfax he requested. We do check our vehicles over and drive them and give the customer the same opportunity, There was nothing deemed unsafe on this vehicle by us or the alignment shop It is a used vehicle in the midwest with our wonderful ******* and customer complained of rust and that is something we have no control over. This Vehicle even being a 2009 was extremely clean with normal wear for the year.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
All of my enthusiasm about the car evaporated when my mechanic looked over the vehicle as I assumed there would be a few things to address on a used car. My mechanic indicated that it was one of the worst cases of rust on the under body hed ever seen. Both the body work and alignment shouldve exposed the rust to the dealer so I doubt he was unaware of it.(dealer did body work and paint himself) I would normally look at the underbody myself but the dealer has a gravel parking lot and it was raining. I was led to believe that the price was due to the salvage title (no complaint on the accident repair) but the extent of rust damage and related repairs shouldve been disclosed. The vehicle in its current condition definitely does not line up with the price I paid. I would like to reverse the transaction and return the vehicle.
Sincerely,

Thank you for the full inspection estimate of recommended repairs or service. We will gladly repair anything to be found unsafe on the vehicle you purchased at a competitive rate. We will inspective the vehicle for any failing parts for excessive leaks beyond normal seepage. Some of the repairs on your estimate is recommended procedures not that it is failing and is a way for large franchise or dealerships to promote more work for themselves and keep their mechanics busy. We can do all the recommended maintenance on their estimate at a lot cheaper rate, but again it is just recommended not required or for failure. We will bring in a 3rd party ASE certified mechanic to inspect & assess any repairs that are unsafe or need immediate repair. Addressing the rust concerns it states in your mechanics assessment that it is surface rust which does not deem the vehicle unsafe and we feel this vehicle was in the upper 80% condition for a 15 year old vehicle. If you feel the vehicle is unsafe to drive the 2 hour trip to our shop, we can tow it to our shop, no charge.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
Following your response about the trucks normal seepage or fixing anything deemed unsafe would be fixed at your competitive rate, I took the truck to an acquaintance who is a retired mechanic for a second opinion. I know you offered to bring in a third party but due to you not disclosing the severity of the rust damage I sought a second opinion of someone I trust. He asked me if the truck had been in a flood because in his 40 years of experience he thinks its appears to have flood damage up into the engine compartment. He agrees with the list of repairs estimated by the repair shop. I would like to return the truck to you for a full refund. This is not the quality of truck I was led to believe I was purchasing.
Sincerely,

WE WILL NOT REFUND ****************** ON THIS *****. AGAIN WE HANDLED THIS SALE LIKE WE DO ANY SALE, OPEN LOT FOR CUSTOMERS TO LOOK AT VEHICLES. TEST DRIVES, AND MY WIFE IS IN NO WAY A HIGH PRESSURE SALES PERSON. HE SAID HE WAS GOING TO BRING HIS MECHANIC FRIEND WITH HIM & WE HAD NO PROBLEM WITH THAT AND THEN DIDN'T BRING HIM. WHICH IS WHOM I AM ASSUMING IS GIVING HIS OPINION THAT HE THINKS THE ***** LOOKS LIKE IT HAS BEEN IN A FLOOD & AGAIN ******************** PULLED A HISTORY REPORT BEFORE HE CAME DOWN AND WAS GIVEN A CARFAX THAT NEITHER REPORT STATE FLOOD DAMAGE. THIS ***** WAS IN BETTER CONDITION INSIDE & OUT OF WHAT WE WOULD EXPECT FOR A 15 YR OLD VEHICLE THAT WAS DRIVEN & USED & WE IN NO WAY MISREPRESENTED THIS VEHICLE OR MISLED THIS CUSTOMER.
