In Nov 2022 this company installed a new driveway, sidewalk and steps to our home. In April, we noticed the sidewalk going from the driveway to the third stall had cracked. 2 sections. We then noticed one section of the new driveway had cracked. The steps they poured are awful. They didn't finish the edges and are discolored. We started calling them on May 1st. We continued calling and on May 8th, I finally was able to talk to someone. I think it was ****. He assured us they would come and take a look at it. Nobody showed up so we kept calling, emailing and texting them. On 5/18 I talked to Turbo. He would come by that day or the next and take a look. That was 5 weeks ago. We have continued sending emails, texts and calls. They don't answer any of them. $8,337.22 was the cost. They need to #1 come and see the problems and #2 fix them. We would like to get dirt and plant grass seed. What frustrates us is that they won't communicate with us!!

    Business Response

The job in question, was poured in two different pours. We warned the customer that due to the ********************** coming in 2 different trucks that sometimes tone of the concrete may differ, due to concrete companies delivering colored concrete to other customers that doesnt always get washed out of the truck fully at the plant. Which causes different tones of your typical "grey" concrete. They load the next truck and move on to the next job, which can cause variation of tone.  Every email we have recieved has been answered back with an email. I have gone and looked at the job when asked to. The "cracks" which are hairline at best, the customer is observing are normal and expected issues when dealing with concrete. Concrete cracks at times due to water in the mix evaporating which causes the concrete to shrink, which then adds stress on the slab, which is why relief saw cuts are made, to try and force the concrete to crack where we want it. As you can imagine you dont get to decide what concrete does.  Running down spouts under the concrete is a way of eliminating water on the slab which gets into the relief cuts, if water can easily get into the cuts, then you have issue with freezing and thawing water. This customer was given the option, but declined do to the added financial investment. Running down spouts under the pour would have eliminated the water freezing and thawing on top of the concrete. I have informed the customer that I would replace anything they would like to have replaced, but that I couldnt do it for free, however I would take a good percentage off of the repairs. When the stairs were done we covered then in concrete blankets to keep as much heat in the pour as possible to help the stairs cure out. In my professional opinion, salt was used on the stairs during the winter. I get it nobody wants to try and get down stairs while they are icy. However salt and newer concrete do not mix at all, and this customer was informed about salt and they understood why salt wasnt supposed to be used. Every industry standard was used on this job, our company prides ourselves on giving the customer what they paid for and never cutting corners. I have been in touch with the customer though email, and during that time, I informed her we are very busy and have jobs scheduled. I informed her I would get her job done before winter comes this year, but I just need to get a section of time that I can get it done. I have been dealing with this customer cussing and swearing even when I was trying to make it right with them, which due to the manner of the customer, and the mistakes made after we were off the job, I dont feel im responsible for them not following our aftercare procedure.  Im not sure if they actually look and see if I respond to emails which I do within a day or two, i never hear a reply to my email, but like clockwork every few weeks I get a message about how I never answered the email, which I have all saved. I'm more than willing to fix the issues caused after we were gone, but due to it not being something that was caused by this company, we would need to be compensated for the repairs that need addressed do to the customers negligence.
