      In October of 2022, I went to Mercy One to have a CT scan done. About a week ahead of the scheduled procedure, ***** One contacted me and told me how much the procedure would cost and that if I paid it in advance or the day of the procedure, there would be a slight discount. I agreed to the price and paid by check the day of the procedure. After the procedure I received an invoice from Mercy One for *****. I contested this charge through BBB and the charge was waived. ******** was the complaint number. I am now receiving invoices from *********************** at ********************************** telling me that I owe them $128.13 for the procedure I had done at Mercy One. I don't know if this is a scam or not, but if it is legitimate, I would like the charges waived. Mercy One and I already agreed to a price for the procedure well ahead of time and I paid that amount in full the day of the procedure. They never told me that there would be additional charges to a separate entity.

      In response to BBB Complaint ID ********. 

       

      Patient had radiology services which were performed by MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center.  The Radiologist who reads the results of the test are specialty physicians and with every Xray performed there will be a ********************** charge, which in this case came from another provider office.

       

      The charge for the radiologist are not included in the price estimate for the technical piece which was provided by MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center.  MercyOne has waived the outstanding balance for the Xray itself.  The customer will need to remain responsible for the Radiologist fees.

      Went into Mercy One for a CT scan. About a week ahead of the scheduled scan, they contacted me and told me exactly how much the procedure would cost and that if I paid either ahead of time or the day of the procedure I would get a 10% discount. I agreed to the price and paid by check the day of the procedure, just over a thousand dollars. Now, a month later, they text me saying that I owe them more money, $128.13. I called the phone number in the text message and they said that the additional charge is for something that wasn't included in the original price, which I was told would be the total amount for the procedure. This extra charge wasn't something that I had been informed of ahead of time and isn't something I agreed to pay.

      I have been in contact with the facility who provided *************************** with the estimate.  It appears there estimator tool did not have the correct contract loaded which caused an incorrect out of pocket estimate.  They have contacted the vendor to have this corrected.  The remaining balance of $45.00 will be waived.
