On October 29, 2024 Action Moving moved me. One of the dining room wooden chair was gouged on the seat and a picture was broken, they were taken and fixed and brought back to me. Two boxes, two totes, one wheelchair, it was used once before my late husband passed, my safe box came up missing. I was told that some of the furniture would be taped to not open, but my jewelry box was not taped and I have lost some jewelry. That box that was fire and water proof had my whole life in it, will, papers, some of my husbands military stuff. I filled out a form saying what I knew was in the boxes and totes, tried to put the money amount on them, but can't remember everything that was in there, but it's my stuff and it's missing, and they haven't done anything about that form, nor have they called me and offered an apology, or offered to give me back the shipping charge which was $500. The man lied to me about the chair, saying they didn't pick it up, I have witnesses who saw them loading it, then I came down and told them I didn't want the chair anymore, that's a lie, I have the seat and foot rests to it, then he told me they left it in the lobby and someone must of come along and took it. I know that didn't happen. I would like to get a wheelchair from them, and I would like to be reimbursed for some of the stuff that was in these boxes and totes, also the hardship I have with these people and the nerves I had in not getting all of my stuff. Also I had just bought a new tote with wheels to pack some things up and I could pull it instead of lifting it, but when I got the tote into the living room, took off the lid, the handle fell off, and a huge chunk in the corner of the tote fell off. They really banged that around pretty hard to break that whole corner. Please can you help me with this, or can you tell me what else I can do to settle this. Thank you.

I am responding to the complaint of ***** *******.  Action Moving sent our warehouse manager who handles most complaints to the insureds residence numerous times.  We talked to the retirement home where we moved the insured and asked about the wheelchair.  The managers of both buildings looked everywhere for the wheel chair that was missing.  They said there are times when they may be in the lobby, someone will just assume it is the facilities and they use it.  The damage to the dining room chair was fixed.  We took the chair to our wood repair person and that damage was fixed shortly after the move and returned. So I have no idea why she is stating the chair was not returned.  The original address owner of the facility ************************ said that ***** ******* and her sister did load some things into her sister's car the day before we arrived.  So I don't know if that is where the safe box went.  There was a broken frame glass picture that we took and had repaired.   We would have no use for a safety file box.  It is large enough that it couldn't be missed in the truck.  The items went directly from one residence to the new residence so I have no idea how so many things could be missing.

I am rejecting this response because:  The wooden chair that was fixed was brought back to me.  The statement about you didn't understand why I said the chair wasn't returned to me was because you confused the "wooden chair" with the "WHEELCHAIR".  There wasn't people coming "numerous times" here, there was a person who came and got the wooden chair and pix.  Later that same young man brought back my pix, and later the wooden chair that belonged to my dining room set.  Then a person came out and brought a form out for me to write down what was missing, and the price of the items, which I did that day and handed it back to him, and he took it.  Then another gentleman came and we talked about the items missing.  Much later I realized that the safe box was missing, and it is so heavy that I could not of lifted it into my car, so that is why it was out to go to the truck.  As far as the items loaded into my sister and my car was personal items such as clothes, clocks, and other items that I didn't want broken or chipped.  We did not load the cars the day before the move, we loaded them the day of the move.

Further more, ****************** IS NOT A NURSING HOME,  if you move people here all the time as the sales manager said you would know it is an independent living and assisted living facility.  I would like to settle this as soon as possible, and I sure won't ever use your services again, and have told other people about this incident.  I would like to be reimbursed for the wheelchair, and the Director and I went to the room where they keep the walkers and wheelchairs where some family members donate these and the wheelchair was not there.  I still have the seat and foot rests.

I would like a wheelchair and the money I gave Action for the move.  I was also promised money that I had put on the form for the items missing.

    Sincerely,

    ***** *******

Our company has no idea of what happened with the wheelchair, a wheelchair isnt something that just gets left on a truck.  ******** stated the wheelchair was delivered to the facility and the facility said they have wheelchairs being used by other residents all the time, so we have no idea of what really happened with it.  I would like to talk to the family member who was helping with the move, so we could figure out more details about the safe deposit box.
