Date of Install: 10/9 and 10/10
    Complaint:
    Billing for services not rendered:
    1. ***** billed for 8 vent caps. I only have 7 and they did not install the cap on the chicken coop because they ordered the wrong size. They put the old vent cap back on.
    2. Ice and water protection was not installed on the chicken coop. This was only completed for the house and garage.
Note: I have the roll of ice and water protection and the 2 uninstalled vent caps in storage because they were left on my property uninstalled.
    Lack of communication
    1. ***** was never on site during the install and never came out to talk to us when we had issues/concerns.
    2. There wasn’t an English speaking person on site for the majority of the day 10/9 and never present on 10/10
    3. Roofers did not seal the roof
    4. Roofers were drinking on site and put a Modelo bottle in my gutter and dump box
    5. One roofer slept for 3.5 hours on my lawn 10/10 and did not wake up when we tried to wake him.
    6. The roofing crew had their family on my property walking around like it was a park during lunch time.
    7. The roofing crew removed a large piece of wood from the home during tear off (around 24’ x 8” and several smaller pieces) and did not replace. They put the ice and water cover over and installed shingles on top.
    Concerns with overcharges.
    1. I provided the estimates from IKO (shingles we installed) and at the high estimate, ***** is double the cost. I would like to see the receipts for the product that was ordered.
***** called us liars when we informed him of the issues so we decided he would no longer install the siding. ***** texted us when he found out he would not be doing the work and told us he would contact our Insurance and inform them we no longer wanted siding. This has been a very unprofessional person that has threatened us, and we had difficulties getting our money returned. ***** claimed he ordered the siding already, but I had not approved. He did finally return that money.

***** billed for 8 vent caps. I only have 7 and they did not install the cap on the chicken coop because they ordered the wrong size. They put the old vent cap back on.
Vent caps were installed on the home in the same locations that the old vent caps were removed from, the chicken coop was a not a standard metal vent, we went out to install this cap. The homeowner asked our installer to leave the property and not take photos of this vent cap after he was told that it was not a normal vent.

Ice and water protection was not installed on the chicken coop. This was only completed for the house and garage. Note: I have the roll of ice and water protection and the 2 uninstalled vent caps in storage because they were left on my property uninstalled. Lack of communication
Mr. ***** was not charged for ice and water on this chicken coop roof.Ice and water shield is only required on locations that have heat. We installed synthetic roofing felt on the chicken coop replacing the felt that was torn off.
Also, on our estimates and contracts it states that left over material belongs to Andersen Exteriors. Holding onto this material is a violation of our contract.
Extra material is ordered so that we do not run short if something comes up and the work has to stop.
    1.
***** was never on site during the install and never came out to talk to us when we had issues/concerns.
No concerns were raised until the the following week after the job was completed. That day we had the foreman of installer crew out there to address the issues
    2.
There wasn’t an English speaking person on site for the majority of the day 10/9 and never present on 10/10
When we talked to *** ***** he told me multiple times that he talked to the foreman who was there to dump the trailer and bring it back that he talked to him 3-4 times throughout the two day install. There were speaking English
    3.
Roofers did not seal the roof
Do not know what this means, shingles are installed and their pre installed tar lines seal down from heat from the sun.

    Business Response

    Date: 11/15/2024

    Hello,

Roof vents are installed and have shingles installed over the edges on the top and sides and the bottom is left open. Not sure what you are referring to on the towers not being sealed. In your message you comment on talking with our roofer but also say you are unable to communicate with anyone because no one spoke English. We also had a meeting scheduled with *** prior to work starting to inspect the barns and he did not recognize me or remember having the meeting scheduled. Things like this and other parts of the story changing multiple times have made it very difficult to take other concerns seriously. We still have not been given any proof of the crew drinking on site, this was another story that changed. We have not returned to the job site since the roof was completed because when we had our crew foreman come out he was kicked off the property and felt threatened when he was out there because of how hostile you were being towards him. The first check that you provided for us was the ACV amount from insurance which was put towards ordering roofing materials for the house and barns. We came back out to your house to pick out a siding, this was done and we were provided another check for materials to order the siding. This was not the full amount for the claim including the siding upgrade to ***** ******. This check was returned minus the remaining amount that was due for the roofing portion of the project.

    Customer Answer

I recommend that ***** Google how to install vent caps.  There are step by step guides and sealing the vent cap is the final step.  This was not completed and another thing we need to be reimbursed for.
