    A door to door salesperson rang my doorbell and ran through their spiel. I told them I was hesitant about the service and he offered the first application at no charge to test it out. He told me if it did not work I could just cancel the subscription (completely omitting that there is a large fee for cancellation). As I was rushed for time I signed the contract on an ipad and went about my day. After paying for the service a couple of times, I decided it was not providing positive results. I called to cancel and was then told that I owed a $229 cancelation fee. I feel these tactics are predatory and I have yet to pay the fee. I was paying $50/month for the subscription and it is a year long contract.

    I'm extremely sorry for the experience you had with our sales representative that goes door to door. With the cancellation fee, we do have it in the contract that you sign and email it over to you as well before starting the service along with the price that you will be paying. I would love to have the chance to correct this experience with you, as well as talk a bit more about our services! We do offer a guaranteed service, in which we go back out to your home as many times as you need us to. With pest activity, an uptick in activity can be seen after the first treatment and that is a sign that the product is working because they are attracted to it and are going through it. We ask that you give the product a couple of weeks to take effect, and we can go back out for additional treatment to make sure we are fully breaking up their egg cycles. I will be having our account manager reach out to you today and leave a voicemail if they are unable to reach you. Thank you for your feedback and hope to speak to you soon!

    I am rejecting this response because:  The response does not directly address my issue.  Yes I agree that you email the contract to consumers before service, but that is AFTER they sign it which puts them in this bind in the first place.  Also, by admitting that it can take time or multiple treatments for you product to show any results I am not sure how you can ethically offer a trial (which was the sales tactic that got me to sign the contract). I believe when I called I was told that I should have cancelled within 5 days (there is actually no *** of time in the contract), but I have also seen multiple times in your literature that it takes over a week for your product to work so I am not sure how that is supposed to work. I would like my cancelation fee (and $35 collection fee) dropped, for your sales people to bring attention to a large cancellation fee before the consumer signs the contract, and to not use a trial as incentive for consumers to sign.
