Avoid this company at all costs! This company will charge your debit card without authorization and then they lie and say you have a balance, but cant even tell you what the balance is for. Their devices are faulty and cause violations and they refuse to address it and they just keep charging you. Then when you dispute it with your bank they want to say you cant do that. If you try to confront them, they put you on hold or hang up on you. Save yourself the headache. Theyre negligent of any wrong doing on their behalf and should not be able to operate their business

I was told that I needed to get a BAIID system in my car so I went through Alco Test Inc. I have been paying them for over a year now. They have been adding violations against me throughout the whole time I have been paying. All of a sudden they claimed I needed to be paying an extra amount every month because I owed them over $400 in back pay, yet I was never made aware of any missed monthly payments or any missed violation payments. I started paying the extra amount because there was nothing I could do about it at the time since if I don't pay the extra amount they would not allow me to drive my car. I pay an extra 30$ a month yet the amount never decreases. One time I was unable to get my car to get the system re-calibrated because it was in the shop. I called ahead of time to make them aware of this issue. The woman I spoke with, *****, said to keep her updated and to take it as soon as my car was done in the shop. I kept her updated on everything. When it was time for me to get my car out they claimed I needed to pay them $130 (approximately) to get an unlock code because I could not start my car. I was then told that if I wanted I could send an email to their company email so I could provide proof of my car being in the shop so I emailed them and never received an email back at all. They have charged my sisters card numerous times after I asked them to take her card off file. They always state that I can speak with the manager about any issues I have, except the manager is NEVER in the office. She NEVER once has returned any of my calls even though I have asked them to leave messages for her several different times. This place of business is very unprofessional. They argue, make up charges, and they basically can say whatever amount they want to say I owe because there is nothing I can do about it as the court has appointed I have to have this in my car and since they know that they are literally taking advantage of that. Very unprofessional.

This company charges fees not listed in the contract or brochures. They don't provide any form of statement (unless hounded) and will bill late fees on "outstanding balances" that they don't inform the customers that they have. They frequently misapply payments, double-bill and at times don't credit payments at all. When shown proof that their device is faulty, they won't remove lockout fees. And if shown proof that a disputed payment was not actually reversed to them (as in the bank never took the money back from them), they still won't remove their $50 "reversed payment" fee. They charge credit card processing fees on cash payments. And charge $2.93 (on the $70 monthly service amount) for what they claim is a "tax" but they can't explain what the "tax rate" is...local tax is 7% and state tax is 5% (they confirmed it's not a card processing fee as that's billed separately). Nowhere in any of the brochures or the contract does it mention required taxes or that fee. I've repeatedly asked the billing department to explain it without response (it was the tech that said she "thought" it was a 4% tax. doesn't make sense. $2.93 isn't 4% of $70. She couldn't figure it out and referred me to billing, who won't take phone calls- emails only). I've also recently discovered that they've been charging a credit card that they agreed (on a recorded call) to only charge ONE time. I'm supposed to pay in cash and have that IN WRITING. Even though I pay my bill in cash, they also charge my card! I reached out to the Iowa DOT and was told that these ignition device companies get away with this because they're not regulated. People required to have a device are stuck being forced to pay non-disclosed fees and charges for faulty equipment with no recourse unless we can afford to hire a lawyer. The thing is, this company knows that most people that require these devices can't afford to fight back so they take advantage of that. It's sick.

April 2022 - October 2022 - PIF at that time, so we thought October 2023 I start getting charged $17.50 from Alcotest, called to find out why and I was told I owed $337 still... I asked for the email from accounting and a print out of my transactions. There are several that are missing that I paid, if I didn't pay I wouldn't have my car, they were recalibrations, not once but twice, they also are saying I never paid the discontinuance fee of $80 however I was never told I had to pay that, I was told to go to Aamco in *************** and get it uninstalled and they would send it back and I would be done.... well a year later and they started charging me for an amount that I have never been contacted about for OVER a year.. I am cancelling my debit card so they can no longer take the money. I have called and asked to speak to accounting and was told they do it all over email, so I sent and email and no response however they took out more money today.I want to know where the money went that was paid when I did my recalibrations and why it was not credited to my acct, also would like every paper I signed from the contract with the full *** on it to the recal papers to the final payment in October 2022.If they can prove I owe it after all documentation is received and gone over I will pay but when your told your total will be $650 or something like that and now they are trying to charge another $337 with no email, call etc I am not ok with it.
