So back in 2023 I was referred to the sleep lab for a sleep study. The first sleep study was a home sleep study where I took the machine home and slept with it and returned it the next day upon getting the results from my sleep study, I was asked to come in for an in hospital sleep study Was scheduled for January 22, 2024. I go in for the sleep study. I have it done. I go to pick up my CPAP after they found out that I stopped breathing in my sleep a couple months later I got a letter from the insurance company said that they werent covering the sleep study because it wasnt medically necessary , so I called the insurance company to figure out why the insurance company told me that the hospital did not get a pre-authorization for this sleep study so I called the hospital And I spoke to a woman named ******. I am not sure of her last night. I explained to her the situation and I also had the insurance company contact her. She was told to backdate the preapproval and resubmit it that was done. The insurance company still denied it so I went back to ****** and she went back to the insurance company and its been a back-and-forth issue up until this day and the biggest issue is that when other insurance company calls the hospital nobody answers the phone, I went to the hospital personally on May 20 to talk to someone the lady that I talk to at the hospital cannot get a hold of anyone regarding this issue. She had to send out a message on ********* teams to get anybody to respond. finally she gets ****** to respond and ******* response was basically Ive talked to your insurance company several times and theyre denying it. Theres nothing else I can do so I called the insurance company right after this conversation and they told me that they would get a hold Of the hospital I recently just talked to the insurance company and they are still telling me that they cant get a hold of anybody in this hospital. This is unacceptable, but if it was a medical Emergency.
