I went into *********** on may 4th, 2023 I only wanted to tan until my wedding in September 2023 (so up until the end of August). It was more expensive month over month for the monthly membership rather than the 6 month membershipbut the 6 month membership was more expensive overall. After small Talk about my wedding and honeymoon plans the rep advised that that additional 2 months would get me to my honeymoon and in addition would be one less thing to worry about as it would expire at the 6 month membership and I wouldnt have to do anything further. Come to find out instead of expiring in October as I was advised, I have been charged every month after and it is now April of 2024. When I realized and went into the establishment to advise them of this they canceled my account and apologized that I was given incorrect and misleading information. They then spent 30 minutes trying to explain to the customer service on their computer that it was not a unused services issue but rather a misinformation issue and they ended up giving me the service phone number. Since then Ive talked to them twice and I was advised even though it was misleading (and I advised a UDAAP violation) they can only offer me in store credit. This is as deceptive and I should be allowed to get my money back. They advised they only have whats in the system and cant confirm what was said. It is not on the consumer to have to ensure the business conducts business appropriately and it is absurd that I am unable to get money back after I was manipulated into getting the 6 month contract that does NOT expire as I was told.
