Are you interested in receiving DEAD ducklings? Yearning for FREE EXTRA male chicks, also DEAD? Then Murray McMurray Hatchery is for you. When contacting the Hatchery on Friday, I spoke with ******. She stated they should have been at my post office that day. Nonetheless they could/ should show up on the 4th day even though it isnt ideal.Saturday, I called my post office, they had received nothing. I tried calling the hatchery. There is no one to speak to after business hours. I went to their website and contacted them via Send Us a Message I have yet to receive a response. It is Monday after business hours.Today, ten days after placing my order and SIX days after receiving my shipping notification, my small town post master finally called saying my package was in. I went straight up to the post office to pick up my package. The entire post office smelled repulsive. My post master handed me a box of decay and said I dont think they made it. The smell alone was enough to turn my stomach. However, opening a box full of dead fowl, covered and half eaten by maggots was the topper. There are laws in place to prevent this situation from happening. No refund could change this experience. GO TO *************** STORE!Murray McMurray Hatchery Inc

We are very sorry and saddened to hear of the issues with this order. We did review all communications regarding this order and the customer was refunded the entire amount for her order.
Review Details: Her order shipped on Thursday, 3/28. The order was for three ducklings, no male chicks were part of her order. On Friday, 3/29, we spoke to her and both agreed to reconnect on Monday 4/1 at which time we would determine a plan that if they hadn't arrived by Saturday morning or if anything was wrong. We have a live arrival and 48 hour livability guarantee on all orders we ship. At the time we spoke on 3/29 it had only been 24 hours, and it can take up to 72 for orders to arrive at their end location. We did receive an email over the weekend stating they hadn't seen the order yet, however our office hours are 8-5 central time Monday-Friday. Her email indicated that the *********** also had no update for her. On Monday 4/1 4 days after shipping we did speak to her twice during normal business hours (11:50AM and 3:20PM central) at which time we were informed the order HAD arrived on 4/1, and due to losses we immediately processed a full refund for her.

I bought a lot of chickens from them, one was dead on arrival the others were so young they died days after delivery. I lost over half my order. I have been incubating eggs for over 4 yrs and I have never sold chicks as young as they are. When you call they don't care God forbid you want money back.Murray McMurray Hatchery Inc

We are sorry to hear you were not satisfied with your order. However, upon review we don't have any record of any losses beyond your one FREE surprise chick in the one order we have in your account. All of our documentation shows we helped identify the breeds of your healthy baby chicks upon arrival, and clarified you had received the correct breeds/order. We do not have any record of any additional losses or record of any calls to our office. We have a 48 hour live arrival and livability guarantee on all of our live orders. All claims must be made by calling our office within the specified timeframe.Review fromHeidi B

I ordered 25 chicks that, due to hatching problems the week of my order, shipped a week late. When the box arrived less than 48 hours after shipping notification, we picked up our chicks from the post office. The post master said she checked our box when it came in and found most were dead. Of the 25, only 9 were alive. One was pretty close to death and died overnight. Another that had appeared healthy was dead by morning as well. We have 12 others in an identical brooder that we bought locally. We haven't lost a single bird. Though I was refunded for all but 8, I found it stunningly ridiculous to be offered replacement chicks that wouldn't ship until April 1st because the replacement of the dead chicks was under 25 birds. I'm not sure why in the world they would put that limit BS on ME when it was due to their poor quality birds that caused the issue. I will NEVER order from this company again. I'm just glad I had no children around because that box of death was really heinous.Murray McMurray Hatchery Inc

Sorry to hear of the issues with this order. We do offer a 48-hour live arrival and livability guarantee, and in checking your order a full refund was given for claims within the window of our guarantee. We have a strict 25-chick minimum for shipping during the months of January-March. Options for replacements during these colder months include a credit, refund, or a replacement if the customer wishes to purchase enough additional chicks in order to meet that minimum. After April 1st, that minimum drops to 6 baby chicks minimum (orders of **** chicks do require a $35 small order fee). These policies have been in place for decades. Our guarantees can be found on our website by visiting ***************************************************************************************************** and in our FAQ page. If there are further issues that need to be addressed, we recommend calling our office and speaking to one of our customer service staff. Our phone number is ************.Review fromJaime B

I have ordered chicks with Murray McMurray twice now. I have nothing but good things to say! My orders have arrived in a safe timely matter of day old chicks. Both orders that I have received, the chicks, are healthy and in good condition, zero casualties. I'll continue doing business in the future with this great company!Murray McMurray Hatchery Inc

Murray McMurray Hatchery sent me me a box of mystery chicks, on September 26, 2023. It not only had more chicks inside the box than listed on the shipping label, the chicks sent were obviousely not the same chicks I ordered. The 5 expensive Bielfelder hens, listed on the label were not in the box. When I called to see what could be done to fix packer ******* mistake, Supervisor ***** made me feel like I was at fault here; not her, not packer ***** , nor anyone else at McMurray Hatchery. There exists a serious biosafety and agricultural safety issue as well. Because they claimed they could not trace where my original order went, nor who's order I received, there's no way of knowing if I have hens, roosters, or vaccinated, non vaccinated, or which breed(s )I have in my mystery box. The potential for falsified pullorum certificates should be concerning. ***** could not verify if this mystery box of chicks were vaccinated or not. I didn't want vaccinated chicks. I have a flock I didn't choose but still will choose to love. This entire experience left a fowl taste in my mouth. Now , I get to feed mystery chicks until they grow up enough to know what McMurray ***** sent me. A photo I sent at ******* request, led OFFICE STAFF to claim they are absolutely without a doubt, orpingtons, Yet, their site states Buff Orpingtons, Rocks, & Minorcas look the same as chicks. But the office staff knows... Hens or roosters?? If they turn out to be hens and orpingtons, well ***** wants me to call and pay for these possibly vaccinated chicks. She wants me to be in her debt for her mistake. I will do what's fair, but will never know where my expensive , unvaccinated Bielfelder hens ended up. I bet ***** and ***** could know if they cared to look into it at all. My hens may come to unsuspecting owners with fake Pullorum certificates and proof of vaccination. This recent transaction leads me to believe anything's possible with condescending ***** at MurrayMcMurray Hatchery.Murray McMurray Hatchery Inc

This order has been refunded in its entirety prior to the publication of this review.
After a full review, our records show this customer placed an order for 2 breeds on our website and received her birds as scheduled. The customer selected no substitutions during checkout. She did not order vaccinations, and did not order or request a Pullorum certificate.
Our order fulfillment data and internal tracking show the order was packed with no of issues and it was fulfilled as ordered. In her first call, the customer stated five of her chicks were missing. In good faith, our customer service staff immediately credited her account.
The customer then called several more times. In those calls our staff and management verified she did receive the correct order and her name and address was on the lable. Our staff and management reviewed photos from the customer verifying that the breed she received was the correct breed. The customer did not order vaccinations, therefore our staff was unable to produce verification. After a full data review our records show the order was not scanned into the vaccination station, which aligns with the customer order. No records show a mention of a Pullorum certificate in the order, email or phone records for this order.
The customer was not asked to call back and pay later. Our staff and management determined the best course of action was to refund the entire order.
