      I signed a contract for internet services for my business with Aureon in October 2023. In August 2024, the management company changed for two of the floors of my building (*********************) and required use of their internet service. Along with at least 10 other tenants, I sent notice to cancel to my contract. I was not notified until two weeks later that I would be charged an early cancellation fee over $2000. The contract did not specify an end date and did not explicitly state it was a 36 month contract. No other tenants to my knowledge were charged any fee to cancel their contract. I have spoken with two tenants who canceled their contract within six months without penalty and there are at least 8 others to my knowledge who canceled at the same time as me and were not penalized. I received an email in error from one of their team members stating that they "thought we decided to bill this one." From my understanding, their decision to charge an early termination fee in excess of $2000 while not charging any other tenants this fee is a discriminatory practice while also violates consumer protection laws. I also have concerns regarding predatory practices with hidden 3 year contracts and unusually high fees associated with early cancelation. I would like this fee to be released and for Aureon to be responsible for any legal fees I incur in this process.
