I called and talked to *****. If this is who everyone else is complaining about, I see why. Because Advantage Financial Services is the company listed on my credit report, as the one who filed the collection, this is who I called about my account. I was told that I had to call North American Recovery, because they were the original creditor, if I wanted any information on my account. When I asked him to tell me what AFS's role was in the transaction, since they are the ones listed on my credit report, he refused to tell me. Just kept repeating that I need to contact NAR if I wanted to talk about my account. I'm wondering how they can file a collection on my credit report, then refuse to talk with me about my account? Seems like this would be illegal? After I talked with NAR, I called them back and asked what their affiliation is, that they can report a collection to the bureau, then refuse to talk to me about my account. *****, again, refused to talk to me about the account or explain their affiliation. I have NEVER received a notification from *** or from *** about this account, but they both have my address on file. To be able to file a collection with the credit bureaus, it seems like they would have to notify the consumer?

Consumer is mis-stating the facts, she was never told were are the original creditor. She was informed that the account has been assigned to North American Recovery and they are the ones she needs to discuss the account with.

We also did mail her notice in ************************************************************************************************** our calls which is why we assigned the account to North American Recovery. We never refused to tell her how we were afilliated with the account only hat we cannot discuss the account with her since we assigned it to North American Recovery and provided her with the phone number to call North American Recovery.

As I stated...."I was told that I had to call North American Recovery, because THEY were the original creditor, if I wanted any information on my account." Don't claim that I'm mis-stating things, unless you're prepared to actually read my complaint. You NEVER told me how you were affiliated and why YOU are the ones listed on my credit report....so you DID refuse to explain why that was the case. You are the ones mis-stating facts.

I would give them no stars if I could. I was ready to get my debit card and pay the bill but had some questions regarding the charges. The more questions I asked, the ***** he became. I requested to speak with another representative, explaining that his behavior was rude, condescending, and upsetting. He refused to transfer me to someone else. I communicated that I couldn't continue the conversation with the way he was speaking to me, as his tone was very triggering, so I asked about paying online. He mentioned there would be an additional fee for online payment but declined to tell me how much when I inquired. Though he provided the website, he was unhelpful concerning the fee and threatened to end the call if I didn't want to pay the bill. I called back several times trying to get information about the online payment fee, but he was abrupt and uncooperative. He claimed to have told me all I needed to know and warned that he would report me to the police for harassment if I called again. It's horrifying that they employ such individuals.

This consumer was provided the information she needed several times. The agent was not rude she just did not like the sound of his voice. He provided her all of the information for paying on line but she kept talking over him while he was providing it stating she was being "triggered by the sound of his voice."  All of the information about fees is also on line and she did not need to continuously call back asking the same questions and being rude. If she was "triggered" as she claimed, she would not have continued to call back harassing our office. We have recordings of the calls that show that the agent answered her questions and she just did not like the answers.

I would really like this review to stay up as a warning to others who have to deal with this company because the person who wrote this response is the person I had the issue with on the phone. This should've never happened because I immediately asked for another agent and then asked again, but I was told no repeatedly and aggressively. He said that if I was going to ask for another agent, then I was saying I would not pay the bill. At no time did I say I couldn't pay the bill or didn't want to. I grabbed my debit card, but when he got aggressive and abusive, I couldn't handle it anymore. I did call the company that held the original bill. This agent told me that the bill was from August of this year. The original ****** told me it was from August 2021 service with billing in 2022. I didn't even live in the state in 2022, therefore I never received any type of billing. I tried to explain I didn't know what the bill was for and didn't know it had been sent to collection or that I owed anything beyond with my insurance paid. He became more angry and confrontational. The original ****** was appalled that any person or company related to their company would treat another person the way that I was treated, so please just beware that this company is terrible to their customers. I would still be willing to pay the bill, if I could speak to anybody else except for this awful man, but the phone number I have leads directly to him and he will not let me go beyond him. Thus is confrontational and an abuse of power and all over $35.

The person who wrote the response is not the person this consumer talked to on the phone. She spoke with a man when she called our office and I am the one who wrote the response and I am  definately a woman. Just proves that this consumer doesn't pay attention.

This organization is abusive. Their **** ****** was combative, interruptive, and disrespectful. He escalated a conversation that wouldve otherwise easily resulted in the bill being paid. Not everyone who gets sent to collections is an irresponsible person. Sometimes medical facilities make mistakes and these things happen. However the facilities and organizations that chose this company as their collector should be ashamed. Youre more likely to get your client their money by being decent humans and respectful of their patients. Advantage, dont event bother to respond claiming that Im not a client Im a consumer. If you have to get that technical to prove you provide good customer service to your clients and dodge honest reviews, youre wrong. I sure hope no one from this organization ever ends up on the opposite side of the phone. DO BETTER.

****, tacky & lazy. The guys a real winner - zero professionalism whatsoever. I asked them to stop calling me as the medical bill in question (for under $200) was being reviewed by insurance. This jerk kept calling - called on the holiday even.

      Advantage Financial Services LLC

We never called on any holiday - our office was closed on the holiday. The bill has been due and owing since 7-28-22 . We called her on 12-11-23 (not a holiday but she did not asnwer. she returned our call  on 12-15-23  (not a holiday)  and she stated the insurance was going to bill this again.  We informed her the insurance had already paid and this was the balance that she owed after insurance and that we could not help her with any further insurance questions but would note the account and collection efforts would continue. She responded "okay". We attempted to contact her on 12-29-23 (again not a holiday) but she did not answer. We were not rude, tacky, or lazy, she simply did not like the facts.

This is how they start off their website about themselves...."FAIR AND HONEST DEBT COLLECTION SERVICES We abide by a strict code of ethics, treating each person with dignity and respect, while helping consumers find a way to pay their debts through reasonable payment arrangement and settlement options. We believe in being fair and honest, not just with our clients, but with the consumer as well."Not the case with my experience and apparently everyone else who has left a review and it sounds to me every complaint is in regard to the same person, this man should be fired.I was calling like everyone else to clear up a debt, that in my case was mistakenly sent over and now apparently irreversible because of the time frame and my assumption this was paid off by my medical insurance as all my out-of-pocket deductibles had been meet. The originating company sent me a bill about a month ago for something that happened 2 1/2 years ago so I called asking why there was a balance still owing, this was the 1st notice I had received, asked if they bill my insurance because they asked for all that info so they could send it over and why it took 2 1/2 years to send a bill. They apologized profusely said they forgot to bill the insurance now it's too late and that it was sent to collection over a year ago. I understand them sending it over to insurance is a curtesy, but when I never received a bill to follow-up on till now makes it kind of hard to pay. A few days later, oddly enough I get the letter from this collection agency. I called 3 times to get this resolved and twice I was hung up on by a man who says he is the supervisor...WOW!!!! When I requested to speak with his supervisor he grilled me about it, would not let me talk to anyone else & then hung up on me. Just wanted help with this.Responses from the debt collector regarding all these reviews are a bit tacky and rude just like the employee, seems like he is responding himself or is this company that unprofessional.

I have never dealt with a financial service company before, and I am so upset about the experience I had. I initially was calling to get clarification on a bill I had ALREADY paid since a different financial company was attempting to charge me for the same bill I had already paid in full with Advantage Financial. I was simply asking about the bill and requesting a receipt to prove to the other company that it was already paid, which I am entitled to as a paying consumer. ***** was very aggressive with me over the phone and stated that I should have asked for a receipt the day of the payment. He refused to give me any details about what I had paid and even hung up on me when I requested to talk to a different agent. Lack of education and training is evident when dealing with *****. The company's mission is to abide by a strict code of ethics, treating people with dignity and respect to help customers. This mission statement includes being fair and honest with their clients/consumers. To withhold personal information is a violation of human rights and ***** does not understand this. Unfortunately, it seems unlikely that ***** will never be held accountable, as I see reviews that date long back about him. It's a shame that this seemingly reputable company has been so misrepresented by one person, *****.

I don't know how this company could possibly have a score of a A-.When called about a past due medical bill the rep. ******* had completely mispronounced my names and when corrected became irate short tampered and disrespectful. I paid the bill in full and asked for a conformation number or a emailed receipt he said NO and told me what a horrible person I was and that I would have to wait to see it in the mail. Dealing with my medical disabilities are hard enough already. To be degraded and demoralized like that on top of everything is unnecessary and disrespectful. I hope the BBB can look at the ****** reviews of this company and revoke their BBB status this company should be rated no higher then a F there is no reason to treat a complaint individual the way they did!

I do not have a negative experience with this company per se, but I do want to comment on one of their employees. I had to talk to two of AFS's employees so far, and I had to talk to one of them twice. The lady I had to talk to in the past is super nice and has excellent phone etiquette. Wish I could say the same thing about their other employee, *****. He has some really bad attitude problems. He is short, abrupt, and sounds like the world owes him everything. He seems to be angry with life, in general. ***** might need to find a different job or at least a hobby, or two.

I am leaving one star because there is not anything less. ***** was the rudest person I have ever encountered with someone in costumer service. He would not let me talk, he yelled through the phone and was just angry. Im sure it is a thankless job but he needs to find another! I doubt that this does anything to correct his behavior. I can only hope!

************************ is not a customer he is a cunsomuer who owed money and paid what he owed with a bad check. He was upset because his bank did not honor the check he wrote to cover his account and his bank returned it to us stating to not try to deposit it again and he did not want t the returned check fee assessed per ***** Statute. He was rude to us on the phone insisting it was the banks fault and not happy that we informed him he would have to take that up with his bank since they were the ones that returned the check. It was no fault of our company. His issue is with his bank not our company.
