An abusive ***** County sheriff's deputy recommended this Gcat guy for a winter backcountry person (myself) rescue and vehicle recovery. Without my approval, Gcat called me while in a life-threatening situation to negotiate the rescue/recovery. Fortunately, I was clear-minded enough to determine his equipment was not adequate for the snow conditions, even though he repeatedly insisted, "I NEVER FAIL!" In fact, that is his business model; once you (in distress) are committed, he can pour your money into anything to keep himself from failing, all on his own characteristic terms. Search and Rescue rescued me without incident, no thanks to the Cop. (What would have happened if I had waited for Gcat?) I temporarily left my $30K machine 4.5 miles from the nearest road. ***, myself, and the Cop agreed it best to recover it later. Then the Cop gave me a ticket for "Abandoning a Vehicle"! Ridiculous! (The Judge saw it my way.) A few days later, I drove out to see ****'s retrieval vehicle. More convinced of it's inadequacy, I challenged Mr. **** to a $1,000 bet, that he could not even get his vehicle close enough to mine to simply take a photo of it. He responded that he was not interested in my money, but the following Sunday, he would prove he could do it. My vehicle was still stuck in the same place. He pulled a no-show. Mr. **** FAILED 3 TIMES; he could not and did not rescue me, same with my vehicle, and then failed to prove he could do any of it. While initially trying to negotiate his deal with me over the phone, he said he charges $200/hr shop to shop, then estimated the job would take 5 hours. So, a $1000 fee. About 2 weeks later, I hired Backcountry Recoveries out of *******. **** did a great job for $500. P.S. 2 years earlier, I ordered a clear (not tinted) back window for my pick-up from Gcat Auto Dismantling and pre-paid for it. It came in tinted. Gcat refused to do anything to fix their mistake.

    To whom this may concern,

please note that this customer was upset because he didnt  want to pay for our services , he expected them for free. Our company never attempted to recover his vehicle so how he can address the issue as being three failed attempts is completely incorrect. The only third attempt services provided was from the ***** County ****************** when they had to send search and rescue after him on three different occasions.  Clearly this customer is delusional and not very honest..
