On Feb 10, 2025 we paid ***** McGuire or McGuire Built LLC to install windows on our new build at our property at ******************************************************************. We were massively overcharged and paid $5200.00 which is way beyond the going labor rates to install windows, but we had no choice as our house was windowless and we needed this part of the project to be finished. Then, ***** got into an argument with the contractor we had signed with (*****************************) who happens to be his brother. The brothers are no longer on speaking terms. ***** abandoned our window installation and left 4 windows plus a sliding door uninstalled. Furthermore, he claims his brother owes him money and if his brother doesn't pay him he will put a lien on our property! This lien is fraudulent and will ruin our good credit. We have paid our contractor in full and ***** is not on the contract we signed with **********************. He is using his argument with his brother to harass us and is trying to extort extra money from us for work we have already paid for. His brother, **** ********, certifies he has paid ***** in full for work ***** did for him. We are considering taking ***** to court to get a settlement for the window installation contract he broke with us. If he puts a lien on our property we will ask for extra damages for damaging our good name/credit, slowing down our project and creating stress for us. Also, we have reported him to the *********************** and learned that although ***** told us he is licensed and insured, he is not. His contract with the ************************** Board was not renewed and he has been operating without a license for over a year. We also learned from those working on our project that ***** has done this kind of thing before to other clients. He clearly is a scam artist. Please help us alert others to his schemes. We do not want anyone else to be hurt by this fraudulent business called *************************************. Thank you.
