I received an invitation to attend a presentation for ShorePointe Resort Club, and was offered an incentive of $400 in dining coupons as well as round trip airfare and hotel accommodations for two, just for attending and listening to their presentation. I went to the presentation and was given the rewards as stated, sort of. Instead of being given coupons for the items promised, I was provided with certificates that then needed to be "activated" within 30 days and cane with an "activation fee" of $17.95. This is per offer, so in actuality there is $35.90 cost just to receive what ShorePointe is representing as a FREE item. Once activated, you have 24 months to book travel to one of the specified destinations. At the time of booking, another fee of $199/person is required to secure the airfare/hotel accommodations that ShorePointe offers as a FREE incentive to attend their presentation. This is a prime example of bait and switch techniques being utilized. I was offered something for attending ShorePointe's presentation, which I did attend, but was not actually given what was promised.

    Mr. *************************,
We have been notified by the BBB of a complaint that you have filed against us.  Unfortunately, we were never contacted by you, therefore, were not allowed an opportunity to resolve your concerns.
We just want to make sure it is clear what was stated in the mailed out postcard invitation and the ******** invitation as we never have any intention of misrepresentation.
Attached is a snapshot of a portion of the postcard invitation which was also clearly stated on the ******** invitation.

In regards to the ******** invitation, when someone clicked to register, it took them to a web page where the person filled out their information and below was stated the terms and conditions of the voucher same as above.
Also, we want to point out that the word coupon or FREE was never used to describe the gifts. The word voucher was used on the invitations. The definition of voucher is: a small printed piece of paper that entitles the holder to a discount, or that *** be exchanged for goods or services. ShorePointe uses the word certificate interchangeably with voucher.
Also, the terms and conditions are printed on each of the certificates/vouchers and also there is a disclosure that each client reads and signs to make sure the client understands their responsibility. Attached in the same document as the snapshot of the postcard invitation is a snapshot of the disclosure that was read and signed by you.

Please note that we have zero complaints filed with the BBB because we always strive to provide outstanding service and resolve any concerns so they don't become complaints
