    Complaint: 22914085

I am rejecting this response because:

    1) During inspection while pointing out the poor quality of workmanship and unauthorized re-model of the siding ****** said "That is the best I know how to do".  Why would I allow him to attempt repair when by his own admission any attempts would only result in even lower quality work.

    2) ****** LIED TO ME 3 TIMES!
--------Strike 1: ****** lied when he said scratches and damage to flashing was not caused by him.
It absolutely was, the damage occurs throughout and I should not have to inspect every single piece of siding showing him where he has damaged my home.
--------Strike 2: ***** said the holes in the bottom of the siding are there "to allow the rain to drain out"
He said this after I indicated the flashing is not constructed so as to prevent rainwater from entering behind the siding. The simple fact is the weepholes are there to allow condensation to escape.  No rainwater ever has and should not now be running behind the siding
--------Strike 3) ****** lied when I asked if necessary flashing to prevent rain from entering the attic was installed.  It simply is not! Rinwater is entering behind the siding now, everytime it rains where it never has before.  I am not going to spend my time arguing with a contractor who refuses to do proper work and lies about it.
I am done being lied to.

    3) This job was only to repair a myriad of small dents and dings in the siding on the west and south sides of the home.  ****** had no permission to remodel the siding and I mentioned repeatedly that I only wanted to match existing siding in style and quality.  While I can understand that the exact style and color of white siding may not be available I am unwilling to trade tiny harmless dents and dings with holes and rainwater penetrating my siding causing water damage and ultimately destroying my home that I have loved and owned for over 25 years.  ******** bid for the repair closely matched the funds provided by my home insurance and I authorized the work based on his BBB rating which I now realize is garbage.

I am seeking an actually qualified professional siding installer and when the work is completed properly I am willing to discuss further payment with this untrustworthy contractor.

    Sincerely,

    ***** *****

    With all due respect:

    1) I know who you are working for and it is clearly not the customer.

    2) The contractor did not address the issues and only tried to get payment for incomplete and incorrect work and continued to lie about completing the work properly.

    3) I am done being lied to and having my home damaged further.

    3) Attached repair estimate to fix what Campbell's "Low" Quality Exterior's made wrong on my home.

As I mentioned previously, I am worried for other people whose houses his poor work may be ruining with future water damage.

I will be calling you in the morning to make sure you understand the implications of any further recommendation of this contractor by you.

    Sincerely,

    ***** *. *****

I had brand new doors and windows intalled at a cost of $14500. The doors do not seal correctly. The windows do not seal correctly and are hard to open and close. The egress windows I had installed leak from where they sealed them to the foundation. Costing around $5000 in damage to things in my basement. I have contacted the owner of campbells, ***********************. He is not willing to do anything.

    Business Response

    Date: 07/16/2023

Campbell's Quality Exteriors installed windows and doors for ******************* on 9/9/2022 (last year). Two (2) of the windows installed were egress windows in the basement. After the egress windows were installed, **** told ****** that he would finish grading the yard to slope the dirt away from the egress windows and he would also install drain rock in the window *****. There was (1) back-ordered window on the job. **** contacted ****** on 10/10/2022 at 6:32pm to ask if his window had come in and he told ****** that he really likes his windows. The back-ordered window was installed on 11/4/2022. On 11/21/2022, *** emailed a final invoice to ******************* at ***************** so he could do his final inspection on the windows and doors.

Eight months after we installed ****'s windows and doors, **** sent a video to ****** on 5/23/2023 at 7:00pm. This is the date that a severe rainstorm dumped 2" of rain in ***********. The video that **** sent to ****** on 5/23/2023 showed a window well full of water and leaking. ****** tried explaining to **** that windows are water resistant, not waterproof. ********** installed (2) egress windows on 9/9/22. On 5/23/23, only (1) window well filled up with water and leaked. The other window well did not fill up with water and was perfectly fine during the rainstorm.

**** contacted ****** again on Sunday 6/11/2023 at 3:14pm and proceeded to tell ****** that the egress windows don't open and close easily and he can also see daylight underneath the door from the garage to the house. **** demanded that something be done immediately. ****** then told **** to call our office during normal business hours (Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm) so he could address his concerns.

For your information, **** never called our office.

    Respectfully submitted,

    ****** & *****************************
