I am contacting you about a doctor's appointment that I had on November 4th, 2024 with Dr. ***** for allergy testing. I did my due diligence and confirmed that the provider is an in-network, but they are balance billing me for the amount Premera disallowed even though my EOB says I have $0 patient responsibility and their charges should have been written off. I need to appeal to have the $161.03 in disallowed units covered or written off please because I cannot afford it. The provider refuses to appeal on my behalf. The billing manager states that I have to pay and submit my own appeal to insurance for their reimbursement. The office had me sign a waiver saying that the patient will be responsible for the cost of allergy testing not covered by insurance. When I signed the form, I thought it was referring to deductible and coinsurance, which would be completely reasonable. I did not know that the form was so the provider could override their contractual obligation with the insurance. I feel like the provider is violating their contract with ******* with this waiver. I suspect the provider knew this would happen even though they said the tests would be covered because I have good insurance. I did not know that a waiver supersedes a provider contract with insurance. I do not understand how this waiver is legal? It feels like it is a way to take advantage of the patient. I thought I was protected from balance billing because I went to a provider who was in-network. I feel like I am stuck in the middle due to the provider's deceptive billing practices. It feels unethical and that is very ************ was suggested to me that I speak with the you to see if you could advocate on my behalf since I am stuck in the middle here. Is there anything that you could do to work with the insurance company and/or the provider to have the provider's disallowed units covered or written off so they won't balance billing me, since my *** says I have $0 patient responsibility?

We are sorry to hear that the patients experience with our clinic did not meet his expectations. I can assure you he received the upmost quality of care. His interaction with our physician is documented in his chart. Furthermore, this was explained to him in detail when he contacted our office on multiple occasions to ask for clarification about his visit in relation to his bill. It was explained to him that his concerns were thoroughly addressed, and multiple treatment options were offered. He was going to consider the options suggested and get back to us on how he wished to proceed. It was our understanding that when he agreed to pay his bill in full that his questions were answered, and that any misunderstandings had been resolved. Please dont hesitate to contact us if questions arise or further documentation is needed. Thank you.

I am rejecting this response because: I never accepted and agreed to anything. They threatened me with sending my bill to collections if I dont give them money. They are a very shady business. If you dont agree with their treatment they threaten you into paying. I have posted what happened to me online and other people have had similar experiences with this horrible place. They are bullies! And extort you for more money.

    Sincerely,

On 12/16/2022 I had an appointment to see *****, DO, **** at ********************************************************* at 11:15 am. I checked in at 10:45 am. The receptionist said I was supposed to be there at 10:15 that I was late. I had the appointment confirmation slip that they had mailed to me earlier in the week that stated that my appointment was for 11:15 am. I showed the slip to her and she said to take a seat. She kept the slip. I saw the so called Specialist and an assistant for a hearing test and was told I had lost almost 70% of my hearing due to nerve damage from Covid and that I needed hearing aids. I can accept that he didn't diagnose the ear infection that I had, but charging me $40.00 for a no show is FRAUD.

Good morning. I apologize for the late response as I, for some reason have not received an email until today. I followed up with our staff and it seems that he was rescheduled due to cancelation list and was given an earlier appt, So he was going off his new patient paperwork slip. We did not put him as a NO Show. But it seems mistakenly patient was charged the $40. He paid when the statement came to him. Patient never called us to dispute the charge which we would have immediately taken off and not had him pay due to our mistake. We will be refunding the patient the $40. I am confused why he did not call us.

    Thank you for your time.
