My insurance information said my coverage ended January 6. But to be safe, I contacted their member services and the person I spoke with confirmed that I would have coverage through the end of the day on January 6 (midnight). So my husband went to PT. And now they are saying that when their system says your coverage ends on January 6, it actually means it ended January 5 at midnight. This makes absolutely no sense to me.

This company is AWFUL. I've gotten my birth control medication refilled at CVS more than once, then they suddenly started denying my medication refills at CVS (not one I really can go without). I tried calling, but I can't get past their automated system because it says my member ID doesn't exist. I tried another number and got ahold of the worst customer service representative. She answered saying, "Hello?" Like I was calling her personal phone, then as I was mid-sentence explaining why I was calling, she put me on hold. No words were spoken, just instant on hold. On top of that, they are not covering my removal of my last birth control (I had the implant) which I have NEVER had any other insurance company do.

My husbands company switched insurance to this company on 1/23 and as of 8/23 they have denied to pay his claims several times saying the providers are not submitting them correctly. The different providers are telling me its the only way they can submit them. After speaking to 15 representatives over the pass 8 mths and they all tell me its being taken care of so far nothing. Im calling his company to have them review Ameraben to try to find another insurance company.

I received this insurance through my job. IT IS COMPLETE TRASH. I was in a bad car accident and assaulted badly 2 weeks later. It has been 6 weeks and I have tried making all the appropriate follow up appointments from the ** visit. NO ONE WILL ACCEPT THIS INSURANCE IN ********* **. Even the providers sent to me from AMERIBEN, does not accept this insurance.

Ameriben medical management is the worst health insurance management company. Their goal is to deny all medical claims, or convert them to Tier 2. I have contacted them over the last 6 months, about getting them to review all the claims that were denied or converted to Tier 2. The ************* Department of labor recommends that these companies have an external review process. But Ameriben does not offer an external review process. They understand that they can continue abandoning patients in the emergency room or in the hospital. Leaving ******** families with the total medical claims. They only care about the bottom line, not about the families that have the health insurance coverage. ***************** government knows that millions of ******** families are being abused by this company. But because of health insurance loopholes, they cannot proceed against Ameriben medical management. If could give this business a zero i would have.

One star provided because zero stars was not an option. My husband's employer switched us to AmeriBen for our health insurance starting January of 2022. I've submitted 9 claims to AmeriBen thus far: only three went through without significant delays or serious errors on AmeriBen's part. I joke that dealing with this company is like having a second job, but it is true given the amount of time I have to spend on marathon phone calls and then follow-up with AmeriBen. Their online "contact us" portal is useless given that you do not have the option of replying to their responses -- you need to start an entirely new thread, and you can't title your messages, so when you need to go back and find a particular query, you just have to click through every single one until you find what you are looking for. They have a portal for submitting claims: it's a hit or miss operation apparently, and no one at AmeriBen seems to know or care why it only works sometimes (though none of them are surprised or the least bit concerned about its unreliability -- the fewer claims they receive, the happier they seem to be.) ANY company putting its employees in the hands of this travesty for something as vital as health insurance should be ashamed of itself and - hopefully - embarrassed to the point of making a course correction at the earliest opportunity. How can AmeriBen still be in business? Are regulators paying any attention at all?

Got a strange letter asking for ********** information claiming that they were a clients insurance provider. None of our clients had ever heard of them and when I tried to call the 800# and inquire a a provider, nobody ever answered the phone after more than 30 minutes on hold. Bizarre. Scam??

Ameriben rejects almost every Insurance claim. They are horrible and do not care about paying any Insurance claims. They also lie to you. I called to verify that I was going to a tier 1 providers. But when the same tier 1 claims were ready they were immediately tier 2 or they were denied. I canceled my Ameriben Insurance because it is a waste of my hard earn money. Especially when they either deny the claims or convert them to tier 2.***************** government needs to Investigate this company. In my opinion they are falsifying documents to save millions of dollars. That is how they deny Insurance coverage claims. I urge the government to do an Investigation.

It seems to be their policy to reject every claim until you call them. Then, perhaps, your claim will be approved, but also maybe not. We've never had this much difficulty before with any other insurance.
