On June ******* I took my 2003 **** F-150 into All Auto Repair ************************************************************** ************ I spoke to ****** ****** the manager. My truck has a rebuilt engine in it with less than ***** miles on the rebuild. The warranty had expired . Mr. ****** seemed positive that he knew exactly what the problem was. He thought he could get it fixed right away I was presented with an estimate to repair this noise problem.745.16 Parts 1250 Labor For a total of ******** Mr ****** and All Auto has had my truck for 4 months. He said he did find some broken parts but he is unable to repair the truck for the 2.062.04 as we had agreed . He doesn't know what it will take to repair my truck. They have not a clue I will not give him a blank check to explore further. the value of the truck is 3-4,000 dollars My truck was driven into their shop. It is not drivable now. I discussed paying THEIR COST for the parts they have used and getting my truck back . I realize these parts can not be returned. On Oct ****** Mr. ****** seemed open to that arrangement when we spoke on the ********* they are holding my truck hostage now and will not make it drivable now unless the Estimate is paid for completely that is *******.I do not see how they can rightly expect payment for a job that is not done. I see this as very unfair and I think it reflects poorly on All Auto Repair and you as the BBB. The fact that they have a BBB sign in their office was one reason I left my truck there. I would like to work to a solution here and I am very positive we can work this out Sincerely Yours,***** **** ************

We have spoken with Mr **** and have come to an agreement and resolved this matter.  For clarification, Mr **** brought his truck in for a noise that was coming from the timing chain and tensioners.  We were able to diagnose that indeed the timing chain idler was broken, causing the noise in the timing case.  This would need to be replaced to not cause more catastrophic damage to the engine.   We wrote him an estimate to repair the timing chain idler.  He agreed and signed for the repairs.  Repair of the timing chain and tensioners were done.   Once this was fixed we discovered an internal engine noise separate from the work that was agreed upon.  All Auto Repair spent some extensive diagnostic time at our own cost to find some answers to where this noise was coming from.  We believe there was a damaged piston ring from his rebuild, but we were unable to verify this without completely opening up the engine.  At this point we reached out to Mr **** explaining there was additional problems with his motor, unrelated to the work we agreed to do.  We did not put the engine back together from the diagnostic as we were waiting to see if Mr **** wanted to have the motor fixed.  Mr **** informed us that he did not want to move forward and was not going to pay his bill for the agreed upon work.   Hours of work and labor were put into the service he agreed and signed for and we were unwilling to agree to his terms of only paying All Auto Repair cost for parts.  Since then we have spoken with Mr **** and come to an agreement and resolved this matter.  The truck was put back together and is awaiting for Mr **** to pay for the negotiated price and to pick it up.
