The bathroom remodel by this company raises concerns of building shortcuts. The work (except for shower glass) was completed on 10/17/2022, as noted in a text from the contractor asking for payment in full. But it was not in fact complete. He had not checked if the work was done before asking me for payment in full. Once completed, my first filling of the tub, water began draining into the living room below the tub. The instruction manual noted a required access panel was not installed. The contractor had been in possession of the order with the bathtub since 06/23/2022. There was never discussion to change the design or that a different tub would need to be ordered. The response received about the leak was that he was out of town and would get back with me the following week. Working with the contractor to take responsibility for the improper installation of the bathtub, and to do the job of repairing the damages correctly has been a battle. After no shows for times he said he would come in November, he began repairs in December. The work to repair the marble encased around the bathtub has been completed poorly, as well as questions about full water damage being taken care of. The area he instructed his employee to fix contradicted the restoration company who the contractor brought only after I insisted there was a water issue. Additionally, I have been sent a new bill for an additional percentage on the invoice for his contractor percentage, from the original 13% to 15% saying it was because this was a more difficult job. This was after everything, but the glass was paid in full, and the only part being more difficult is the damage and improper installation of the bathtub caused by the company. I am backed into a corner not sure of what to do. This master bathroom remodel has cost me, to date, $30,205.69. I don't trust the work nor the word of the contractor to resolve his mistakes with professional quality and without the potential for lasting water damage.
