My 85-year-old mother, with dementia and Alzheimer's, is another victim of these predators. I'm not a social media guy, but I would admonish everyone to warn those in your network with elderly relatives of these scammers. I will be posting on LinkedIn immediately. Please for the love of God do not use this company! They are taking advantage of the elderly for sure. Myself and my sister in law both called Medical Alert/IBAN LLC Global to speak to them regarding a device that was sent to my mother in law (almost 81 years old.). My mother in law does not remember giving permission to for this device to be ordered or for them to take money out of her account. My sister in law keeps track of her finances as well as keeps her debit card on her. None the less when my sister law was unable to get anywhere contacting them to dispute this being sent, I called today. Apparently on Dec 16th of 2023 she was called. On December 19th a charge of $39.99 was deducted from her account. According to ***** with customer service the charge was for shipping and that the device is active when it ships. I let her know that my mother in law was in the hospital from Christmas Day until mid January and is still not home. We discovered the device upon periodically checking the mail. I let her know as soon as we knew it was here we returned it as we did not need or want the service. I also asked to hear the recording of the conversation where my mother in law gave permission for this device. She said she did not have access to that information. I then asked for someone who could give me that information. ***** then proceeded to say that ***** there could give that information as they outsource sales for their company. I asked her how could they charge for the device when she hadn't even received the device and she said because it is active as soon as it leaves the facility. So that if she gets it from the mail box and something happens she can alert someone. I asked her if she was unconscious, how was she supposed to contact someone or be coherent enough to alert someone? She then said the device is powered off. My reply was how is she supposed to turn it on and it be active if she in unresponsive. This company is beyond ridiculous!!!!

I think they are predators on the elderly, if not outright fraudulent. My mom is almost 86 years old, can hear less and less each day, and is starting to suffer cognitive decline. I first became aware of a problem when I saw a bill for a life alert system show ** in the mail. I called up the company to inquire, and the woman told me that there was a recorded conversation where my mom agreed to this. I have no idea whether thats true or not. What I do know is we never received a unit at all. I can say this with the utmost confidence because I get her mail. I check her mailbox several times a week and there was never any life alert package for her. Now they send her a bill for ****** comprising two months of service that was never used, plus 199 for one unit that was never received. Awful awful awful. They ought to be ashamed of themselves.

this company called my father who has dementia and tricked him into providing his checking account number. He and I called back and told them he wanted to cancel and they were nasty as can be saying it couldn't be cancelled. Now I see they have charged his checking account for the money even though we told them we wanted to cancel (within minutes of the first call). This company should be ashamed of themselves. Never do business with them!!!!!

This company called my elderly, 91yo, mother, unsolicited, and talked her into giving her credit card for a $39.99/mo mobile medical alert system, no contract. They then charged her credit card $199. She was shocked when the device arrived and she saw the $199 charge. She wasn't aware of any activation $150.01 fee, nor that the device won't work at her house because their system uses ****** network and their signal is too weak. I doubt she's aware of the other costs involved or that for this price she won't own the device. She did not activate the device, fortunately she contacted me for advice. The agreement they ask her to sign and return is with Iban Global LLC. A search shows this company was dissolved Dec 9 2022. Today is May 15, 2023. I called the given customer service number and my mother will return the device. They require it received in less than 30 days from the transaction date for a full refund. Preying on elderly people to sell devices with tech they don't understand, with charges they aren't made aware of, and only sending the agreement with a device that has to be returned, doesn't sit well with me. She gets at least 20 calls per week trying to sell her an alert device. So now she has to deal with the cost of a quick return and a 1hr round trip drive to return the device. This transaction ruined mother's day for ** and has cost me several international long distance calls already. I hope my mother can get out of this mess caused by cold calls preying on the elderly from this company

We are the manufacture of the mobile medical alert with fall detection that was sent active to your grandmother. We only send out active units so upon their arrival in homes help can be immediately received. We understand that IBAN Global requested this lifesaving unit be sent to your grandmother after receiving notice that someone at her phone number was interested in this type of life saving equipment. All programing fees and monthly payments are repeatedly verified before any payments are withdrawn from accounts. We appreciate that these are longer conversations and with what seems like several companies reaching out to offer services not all details of sales call *** have been understood. I do show that when we were notified of ******** desire not to use our companys service the refund time was extended to better accommodate the return of the product. We have notified IBAN to ensure ******** phone number is no longer on their sales list, however we have no control over other companies that *** be reaching out causing the multiple calls to her home phone. We appreciate that our lifesaving device is not the best fit for all situations and we genuinely hope that you are able to find a product that better fits Marilyns needs.
