I contacted KWI LLC from their website ********************************************* from an advertisement they had posted on *********** I moved into an apartment in July of last year and gave them a $2800 security deposit to move in. My rent was $1,150 a month and they offered a discount, so I paid $1000 a month while I lived there. There were many issues with the rental including: a floor based heating system that didnt work, a bathroom with broken parts like a toilet that was clogged and a sink and bathtub that didnt drain right, a smell of animal urine, and a kitchen with broken drawers and cabinets. My next door neighbors kept piles of trash outside and wouldnt move it even when I filed a city complaint. They wouldnt stop crossing my patio at all hours of the day and night. A dog that would use the bathroom on my patio. My mail was damp or wet often when I got it from the mailbox. I was diagnosed with cancer a while ago and it was cured and gone. My doctor said it had a chance of coming back recently and I had to move to another location. I contacted KWI and asked to leave my lease early because of this. They agreed and had me send in a letter confirming the details. Move out was set for April of this year and my last month of rent was April. They didnt tell me where to drop the keys at or much about the move out process. I moved out at the start of April and wasnt there much of that month. They told me theyd send my security deposit refund to the address I gave them. It was $2800. I got the letter from them almost two months after I moved out. The receipts I got from them said it was $2000 and they charged it all and I had a refund balance of $0.00. The charges were for rent for the month of May ($1,150), additions to the apartment like new closets in the bedrooms, bathroom renovation, and apartment renovation. The apartment was in the same condition as when I moved in. They left $800 off. I lost the receipts and they wont resend them to me.
