    I was issued a check for $2,400 on November 07, 2023, via postal service. I deposited the check into my PNC bank account on November ******* the funds were made available, no issues. A week later I received notification that the check needed to be validated by the sender which is Panhandle Escrow. Since no one from this company contacted the bank to validate the check. PNC over drafted my account causing me to have a negative balance of $1,686.36 in my account. I've called ********************************************* on four separate occasions before someone answered, before I had to *67 my mobile cell. Once I got a hold of someone at the company, one of the employee's told me that no one from there company issued the check. As a result, of this the overdraft has costed me significantly.

    Complainant was notified that Panhandle Escrow Company did not issue this check; it was fraudulently drafted from company account resulting in the action of our bank to stop payment. Complainant is not a client of Panhandle Escrow Company nor could they provide the reason for the funds being issued on their behalf. Panhandle Escrow Company instructed complainant to contact the party who sent the fraudulent payment to them and complainant stated they were not sure why they received the funds but attempted to deposit the payment any way. 

    Complainant has been notified on multiple occasions that a refund will not be issued. This complaint should not be listed against Panhandle Escrow Company as this party was never a client and cannot produce a Panhandle Escrow Company Escrow Agreement and Instructions to show otherwise or that they were entitled to payment from our office. 

    Panhandle Escrow Company has complainant's contact information and complaint. If complainant can provide information as to whom provided them with the fraudulent payment, all information may be provided to the proper authorities at Panhandle Escrow Company's discretion.
