The painting happened August 2023. The painter oversprayed and painted a new window. The painter also did a lousy job. The paint is already peeling. His insurance say Said he was responsible. However, his deductible os 500 so it was up to him to resolve. He has not taken any steps to resolve the issue.

Customer ****** did not return any of my messages before start of job. ****** left out of country without any notice or communication with me. ******* husband said her phone was not working. Alyssas husband approved all work and color of paint used. He paid in full for completion of job. Customer had damaged wood beyond repair. Him and I walked the area and I made notice of certain spots which he approved of. After agreement on everything he wrote me a check for approval of completion of tasks.

    Complaint: 21406359

I am rejecting this response because:
I approached the painter as I was not happy with the work. I was unhappy with the overspray especially on a new window. All he did was say sorry. I just wanted it fixed. If the wood was an issue he saw that when he did a quote with me. He could have told me that.  I myself used the paint he brought and painted a different area of the house with the same wood. I primed and painted it is not peeling like his work. His work was peeling within a week and got worse over the winter because it was not done properly.  So I have peeling paint and paint on places it should not be.  I did not return his call because my phone did not work but we had been communicating through email and he could have continued to do so.
My husband didn't see the overspray and his eyes aren't as good as mine so he didn't see the uneven paint job.  My husband paid because he did paint. He painted so much he damaged our window... his insurance said he was liable and would reach out for resolution. He never did so here we are. I will reach out to his insurance again and include all the overspray instead of just one window. Truly saddened by this response. I would have been satisfied with him himself coming and removing his overspray months ago and fixing the peeling spots.

    Sincerely,

Hello *****. Iam to this claim about painting from **************** All painting and precondition of wood was explained prior to painting. As trim was brushed and rolled. Customer agreed upon a neutral color. Not a matching color. The paint did not damaged the window as nothing was broke, cracked or chipped as stated by customer. Previous installation of the window had caulking all over the frame. I used an oil primer for a strong bond and used appropriate paint.

I am rejecting this response because:I am not going to go back and forth on what you did or didn't do as far as painting. I reached out to you about my concerns. There was primer visible through paint and it was already peeling in spots that were not the older wood. I let you know that you painted in spots that were outside of the area of requested work. This would be "overspray" damage to our home. Work that you could have come and fixed instead of just saying sorry. You caused damage to our home and all you are doing is coming up with excuses. No, you did not chip or crack anything. No one has claimed that.

As far as the wood being older etc that was not told to me in the quote. I am not here because of that. I actually had a painter come and quote last week. He explained what he would do to help that area before painting so we were not wasting money. As a "professional" painter I had expected that from you and to clean up your errors.

So surely you can see why I am going this route. I first addressed you. Then I went to your insurance who said you were at fault but you would come up with a solution. I have waited months for your solution. Now I am addressing it through the BBB. All of this to include your lack of accountability, professionalism, and willingness to fix your mistakes appears to reflect your business practice. If a consumer is to make a good choice on who they select to repair their home, they should be aware of the mistakes you have not accepted even though others have confirmed you did error. As such, making it public through the BBB would only assist others in making a wise choice.
