Mechanic at john Deere destroyed the radiator in my 4720 John Deere during removal. they (john Deere) are now charging me for a new radiator they destroyed. I want the cost of this radiator removed from the bill.
I paid John Deere for the items I requested to be fixed and that is all I am willing to pay for. I wrote John Deere a letter (see attached letter) and sent them $1056.29 they are now wanting an additional $236.83 for the broken radiator they (John Deere) destroyed during removal.
Therefore, I am requesting John Deere amend the bill.

    Business Response

    Date: 01/09/2023

I am responding to the customer complaint that was written to the Better Business Bureau.  This complaint was written on 12/24/2022 from ***** ********  We did do work on ***** ******* 4720 tractor to fix a leaking water pump.  We gave him an estimate of bill before seeing the tractor on the job that he requested.  Once having tractor in shop, we did break a mount for radiator while taking old radiator out.  We did look at radiator and found it had used a product of stop leak prior to our service to it.  The radiator had some plugged holes that would make it overheat.  At that moment I called customer to let him know what we found with radiator.  Also, to tell him we had to order a new radiator.  He wasn’t happy about extra purchase I explained that I would work with him on bill to help on cost because of unexpected cost. Our estimate was $1050 for work of water pump, pick up and delivery, and labor.  Our total bill for job ending up being $1293.12 that was for water pump, radiator, and labor.  I took off pick up and delivery fee and lesson the labor for total job.  When this was billed out and he sent letter was during Holiday’s.  So, before I was able to adjust his bill to his exact total from estimate he was rebilled for the $236.83. I have reacted out to ***** once I fixed bill and explained why he was billed the money.  On 12/28/2022 we emailed each other he was satisfied with balance of new bill and told me that he adjusted the Complaint.  If need any further explanation, please feel free to reach out to me.
