    4-15-24: Truck was reserved from Budget Truck in **********; pick up & drop off at the same location. Price for a one day was $39.99 w/an estimated 200 miles. The total with ************ was to be $202.49. 4-25: Picked up truck & inquired about dropping it off at the ****** location b/c it was closer to our new home. Instructed to call Aurora & see if they had room for ********* did. It was a flat rate of $180 with 92 miles included. Neither location disclosed an increase from $39.99 to $130/day if we kept it longer. 4-26: Called the ************* and asked the price/day; told it was the regular $40/day plus mileage. Told to call them each day to confirm we still needed the truck, which we did. My husband spoke to *** on multiple occasions. One of the days, we were told that they didnt have room in the lot to receive it anyway. 4-29: Our cc was charged $233.94 for the first day of rental..4-30: Received voicemail from the ************* stating the truck had been scheduled to return on the 26th & it would be reported lost or stolen. By the next morning it was already reported resulting in a $50 charge to our cc.5-2: Returned the truck. CC was on file & charged immediately $1420.48 including $229.18 in needless charges. The employee showing the receipt to my husband covered the $910.00 rental charge with his finger & pointed to the miles, $274.30 and stated, Thats where they get you. 5-7: Looked more closely at the charges on receipt. Saw for the first time the per day charge was actually $130. Called Budget Truck corporate. Placed on hold & transferred multiple times. Corporate was unwilling to make any adjustments, They stated that they would open a claim, investigate with Aurora, & get back to **; they have not. Also called Aurora to ask about the charge; they were evasive, refusing to answer any questions after misquoting at $140/day, not the $130 they actually charged us. The person we spoke to hung up when we asked his name.

    On February 14, 2024, I contacted Budget Rent-A-Car to rent a car for my step daughter. One of the first questions I ask was, since she is under the age of 21, can they rent her a car. They told me that there is a waiver if I paid $27.00 a day and then they could rent to her. I told them that was fine and we proceeded to set up the rental. The car was to be picked up at 5:00 p.m. at their store at ***************************************************. When she arrived at Budget at 5:00 p.m. the person at the store said that they could not rent to her since she was under the age of 21. I called Budget and talked to the representative at the store. He explained that I had talked to their customer service, which is a call center in another country. He then told me that they had allowed the waiver during the pandemic, but that waiver for $27 has been discontinued. He said that " the representative at the call center lied to me. He said that their job is to book as many rentals as possible and that they lie all the time. I asked for a complete refund of my money. He told me that he could not do it since it was prepaid through customer service. He said, if I want my money back that I will have to call customer service and explain the situation and then they can refund my money. I told him that this is completely unacceptable, that they won't honor the commitment that their employee made to me and now in order to get a refund I have to call customer service. I called customer service and they told me that they would process the refund and that it would take three days for it to show up. They did not give me a confirmation number or an email confirmation of this.This ended up making my step daughter miss her therapy appointment and caused her a great deal of stress.
