My daughter unexpectedly passed away in December 2022. I retained the biohazard clean-up services of Aftermath for my daughter's condo in January 2023. I was not completely pleased with the service, and I feel that the tragedy suffered by my family and my overwhelming grief of losing a child was taken advantage of by this company. I was not strong enough emotionally to go into the master bedroom (scene of my daughter's death) and so I was unaware that there was a biohazard of several weeks old urine in the toilet in the master bathroom. They never made me aware of this, and even though they were in biohazard gear, they did not flush or clean the toilet. I also thought that they would have cleaned up more of the mess in the kitchen. Since there was no applicable insurance policy for my daughter's condo that I was aware of, I was told that I needed to make a full payment to Aftermath regarding their fee of $5,262.36. I told them I could not afford to make that huge payment so I made my first payment of $1,313.91 on January 19, 2023. The balance was to be paid once a month in payments of $656.95. They insisted that I enter into a bank draft arrangement rather than I send them a check every month. I signed the appropriate form for them to debit my bank account the amount of $656.95 ONCE PER MONTH until the balance was paid. However, in February 2023, Aftermath debited my account TWICE. My account was debited $656.95 on February 17 and then $656.95 on February 22 (without my knowledge or consent). I contacted Aftermath via e-mail on February 22 and advised them of the overcharge. On February 23, I received e-mails from ********************* and *********************. ********************* replied in a February 23 e-mail that the funds would be back in my account within the next 24 to 48 hours (of February 23). It is now the afternoon of March 1, and the funds have not yet been put back into my account. I requested the documents and tracking number of the fund transfer but have not received same.
