    Total for work to be performed $1,150, $200 of the $1,150 was to Repair and Smooth Out 4 Ceiling Drywall Areas, which all he did was to Slap some Drywall Mud on 04/24/23 and never Return to Complete the Job which he was Paid for in full.

    We contacted ***********************, of Mr. ******* a Handyman Service to do work on our master bathroom in July 2022 shortly after moving into the home. ***** stated he had ample experience with installing showers. ***** agreed to tear out the tub and build a tiled, stand up shower, and take out the closet door and move it so it was accessible from the bedroom. ***** began the work on 8/4/22. Our primary complaint is about ****** improper installation of the shower and bathroom floor, and negligence in repairing his work. Since the master bathroom shower was finished, we found that he failed to pitch the shower curb towards the shower floor, and now the water flows off the shower curb, onto the bathroom floor, and under the baseboard causing water to pour into our dining room on the first floor of our home. In addition, the tile in the shower pan is not pitched towards the drain, and the drain is higher than the tile creating pooling. Lastly, he did not secure in place the tiles of the master bathroom floor properly and now the tiles are moving, and the grout is chipping and cracking.We contacted ***** on 8/25/22 when we found the water coming through the dining room light. On 8/26/22 ***** found the source of the leak into the dining room, as outlined above. ***** returned on 8/27/22 to fix the holes in the drywall and repair the issue in the shower. Instead of fixing the tile, which is causing the issue, ***** placed a strip of caulk between the tile and the baseboard. He said he would return to finish the remainder of the work and never did. We haven been contacting him with no response. On 9/10/22, I spoke with ***** over the phone, and explained the situation. He stated he would be over first thing on 9/12/22. He never showed up. He has not returned calls or texts since.

    I am rejecting this response because:

    Per our initial complaint, when the water leak in the dinning room first occurred, ***** "fixed it" by turning the shower head toward the exterior wall, and put caulk between the baseboard and bathroom floor. This was merely a patch, it did not resolve the issue at hand which is the poorly constructed curb to the shower. When the leak persisted, we called and even talked to ***** who agreed to come back to the house on Monday, September 12. He failed to show up. He has his opportunity to fix it and did not. In addition, if he improperly installed it once, what is to say he will do it right the next time. Our request is that he return the money requested, so that we can hire a professional to fix his poor installation.

    Can you please advise on where this complaint stands? I inquired about reopening it as we finally received a report from the company that had to redo the shower. I noticed the complaint has not been reopened.

    I am rejecting this response because: the company did complete the job, however it did not function properly. As stated previously, he had the opportunity to fix it and did not show up, nor did he respond to our voicemails or text messages. In order to use the shower we had to go with another company, who found multiple issues which required us to gut and redo the shower. If it were functioning as the he states, then we would not have had it redone.
