A friend and I visited the Community Thrift Store on Monday, November 18, 2024, around 3:29pm. We walked through the store looking at the overpriced used clothing. My girlfriend and I have visited this store many times and have had several confrontations with the store manager and staff in the past. Yet, we continued to donate clothing, furniture, etc. to this establishment. We decided we didn't see anything of interest and we headed to the front door I noticed a vase filled with vegetables for $1.95 so I picked it up and proceeded to the cashier to pay for the item. The cashier stared at the one item I had and then called the manager. I asked, what's the problem? She held up a long line of customers waiting to pay for their purchases. The cashier told me I could not purchase the vase because the price tag had been switched. I said, What, *** is going on here? Let me speak to the little manager, The cashier stated I cannot give you my phone but I can put you on speakerphone. Putting me on speakerphone meant the entire thrift store could hear our conversation. The cashier called the manager and allowed me to talk from a distance. I tried to explain to the very nasty little manager that I would never switch a price tag and I refused to be treated like a common criminal. The manager yelled and said, "You have a big mouth!" If you want the item so badly then take it and leave me the h*** alone in Spanish. The people in the store could not believe the way she talked to me and as I said, this wasn't the first time she had done this to me. Everyone in the store was baffled and sided with me. I have never felt so humiliated and embarrassed in an establishment before. This woman was extremely unprofessional and should not get away with this treatment of loyal donating customers. I was so ashamed I balled my eyes out after leaving the store and was unable to sleep the entire night. This location should be closed or new caring employees hired!
