    As a fellow training in child and adolescent psychiatry, I have to sign up and pay for the board certification exam. The regular deadline to apply to sit for the exam was April 4th, after which a late fee is added if you apply late (until some time in May). The **** does not send any reminders to sign up near the regular deadline (and I understand its also my responsibility to keep track of the deadline). I missed the regular deadline by two business days and the late fee they charged on top of my $2000 fee for *just the application to sit* for boards was a $500 late fee. This business is absolutely preying on medical trainees who have no option but to pay these exorbitant fines to become board certified to be able to practice (after having already gone through years and years of training). I understand the need for late fees but have never see a late fee this high and without any explanation or clarity as to what this extra $500 goes toward. I would like this investigated. Thank you.
