      Almost a year to date after I received hearing aids, this provider changed billing vendors and out of the blue, I was sent a bill for $356. I had worked with the insurance company and the provider on all of the costs to me before I agreed to move forward with the purchase. I paid the out-of-pocket expenses at the time of both appointments and was confident everything was handled.I am three insurance companies later. I also had the means to pay such a bill then and I do not now. I tried to work with the Ear, Nose and Throat Care Center, but they would not work with me on this. I should not have to pay a bill that violates the Consumer Protection Act. This is deceptive practice when they worked with me and the insurance provider on what all costs would be in advance and I paid what I was billed at the time of service. In addition, the bills that have been sent to me, including the last one that states it had gone to collections, have a number to call that is not in service. After personal visits to the office and several calls later, I finally got a call from ****** about a week ago regarding this issue, and she acknowledged that the number on the bill is not correct and that this had NOT, in fact, gone to collections. This is threatening information that is not sent in good faith if they are aware no one from the billing department can even be contacted based on the bills sent. ****** also agreed that a person should not be accountable for a bill that is sent a year after the fact.It is too late for me to go back to the insurance I had a couple of years ago and I should not have to shoulder this battle. This is their error, not mine.
