    Took in some student lockers for scrap which were made of complete steel and the company said because it was not as thick as a lawn mower blade that it was considered tin and only paid me tin price for 3.5 tons of steel which I lost over $300 due to them claiming this since prepare steel was $220 a ton and tin was $150 a ton. The lockers were broke completely down and were magnetic because the guy used the magnet to remove them. To me this is fraud because a thickness of a material doesn't change what it is made out of. I wouldn't recommend anyone take stuff here because they will rip you off to make a profit for themselves.

    This is taken directly from the mill's specification list:

    #2 Heavy Melting Steel

    Physical requirements: 

    Minimum thickness:  1/8 inch

      Maximum length and width:  60 inch x 12 inch, 48 inch x 18 inch, or 36 inch x 24 inch

      Minimum Density:  40 lbs. per cubic foot

    Maximum piece weight:  600 lbs.  (90% under 200 lbs.)

    School lockers do not meet these specifications.  Therefore, they are purchased at tin price not prepared metal price.  No one here is out to commit fraud.  We will gladly pay the correct price for the material sold.  Furthermore, if you were not satisfied with what you were paid on the first load, why did you come back with a second load?
