On 9/11/22 I bought an RV battery, a Duralast 27DC -DL for a home sump pump. When I tested the battery at home, it was not my old battery that was the problem. It was a fuse, so I didnt need the $150 battery. Because the fuse was broken, the battery test did not used any power from the new battery. I brought a new fuse and installed the old battery and the sump pump turned on again. I brought the battery back to AutoZone for a refund but they told me that because I tested the battery it was now considered used and they would not accept a return. The battery is in the exact same condition as it was yesterday but they consider this used. They would not test the battery to see if any power had been take out of it and would not give me any other solution. The sales rep did suggest I try and return the battery to a different AutoZone and lie to them and tell them I hadnt installed the battery. I told him I could not trick people like that and if that was possible why couldnt I just return the battery here and now and still he refused. I asked to speak to a manger and he condescendingly yelled to a different sales person can we accept used batteries? And the guy yelled no and it seemed as if this was an effort to embarrass me or intimidate me, so I left the store.
