On February 14, 2024, I called Byot&#**;s Pest Control *************) regarding mice poison that they sell. I talked to a guy named ***** about coming to my property to discuss the rodent poison that his company sells. When he came the same day he knew of. I asked if it was going to work. He said yes. I decided to purchase some of his poison. I own 2 houses with a total of 4 bars. He only had 6 bait stations and a partial 5 gallon bucket of poison with him. He set up the 6 bait stations for me and told me where to put them. He said he would bring t he other 18 stations and 5 gallons of bait in about a week. He said I could pay him at that time. He called on February 20, 2024 and brought 18 bait stations and one 5 gallon bucket of bait. He said the bait was $120.00 and I owed him a total of $440.00. I paid him with a check. I asked him, once again of the bait was guaranteed to work. He said yes. I told him that mice had not even nibbled on any of the bait that I have out. He said the mice have to find the bait. I told him that I would try it for 30 days and if it didn&#**;t work I would return it. He said ok.He started talking about how much I should ask for my house when I got ready to sell and how good he was at remodeling houses. I thought he&#**;d never leave. He failed to leave me the 18 pins that were requested to secure the bait stations when placed outside. I called (2-21-24) to tell him that he didn&#**;t leave me the pins. He said he&#**;d bring them to me when he was in the area. He called on February 27, 2024 to bring them to me when he was in the area. He called on February 27, 2024 to bring the pins to me. He left 12 pins instead of 18 so I called him again. He had only drove a short distance from my property. He came back and began complaining about all the trips he had to make to my property. He said he left 12 pins because there are 4 bait stations in a box. There are 6. He left 5 more pins. He was one short. He said he would not bring the other pin to me. He attempted to blame me for his incompetence. I told him that mice had not eaten any of the poison that I had in 2 houses and 2 barns. I once again told him I would only buy the poison for 30 days and if the mice had not eaten aby by then I would return it. He said just give it some time for the mice to find the poison. I told him that I felt 30 days should be enough time for the mice to find.On March 18, 2024, I called ***** and ********************* *************) and told them that I wanted to return everything that I bought from them and get a full refund. After complaining he said he would come get all of what I bought and hung up. He didn&#**;t say when he would come. I waited 2 hours and called both **** and ***** again. Nobody contacted me to arrange to pick up their product. I called on April 3, 2024 (both **** and *****) and told both of them that I would wait until the end of the week for them to pick up their products and refund my money and then I would take further action to get my money refunded. On April 4, 2024, ***** called and I told him that I would bring everything that I bought from him to *********** so he wouldn&#**;t have to come to my home. He said he could meet me at the post office at 1 p.m. I agreed. No one was at the *********** post office at 1 pm except me. ***** and his wife (in separate vehicles) came shortly after. When he approached my truck I told him that I owed him for one bait station, that a critter must of carried it off because I could not find it. He started unloading my truck and putting the boxes of bait stations in his truck without giving me a check for the refund. He said that his wife had it. I walked over to her car and she had to wait to verify that I was returning everything that I had bought. She made out a check in the amount of $420.00. I told ***** that wasn&#**;t the correct amount. I told him that he had told me that the 5 gal. bucket was $420 which would have made the 24 bait stations $13.33 each, therefore, the check should have been made out for $426.67. The check was $6.67 short. He looked at me in what I consider a malevolent manner. I didn&#**;t know what he would do so I got into my truck and immediately went to the bank close to the post office to cash the check. I asked the bank if the check was good. She checked the account and said yes. I cashed the check and left. I wasn&#**;t going to file a complaint against the company but since they shorted me $6.67 I decided to file this complaint, hoping it will help other people not to deal with this company and have to go through what I did.

      Business Response

      Date: 05/28/2024

I didn't do work for the lady.  She called me and asked about mouse stations.  She didn't tell me what she wanted and didn't let me in her house to look around to see what she needed.  I went out and told me she had 2 places and 4 barns to be treated and wouldn't let you help her out.  I cut her a deal on the stations, she had them for a few weeks and wanted to return them.  She kept calling me over and over and called the old owner about it.  Finally she brings them to town to return them and shorted me on the return.   I deducted what she didn't bring me back.
