    Vip installed two furnaces and supporting ductwork throughout our home. The contact states that all ductwork through the attic will be insulated with R8. This was not complete and as a result the furnace exhaust and ductwork is corroding and leaking onto the drywall ceiling, causing damage to drywall and paint as well as mold. We reached out to the company to insulate these ducts but they refused to do so without further payment.

    The scope of work requested by the customer was not included in the executed contract or in any approved change order. When the customer requested extra work, it was advised that the extra work could be done only if they signed a document waiving VIP Heating & Cooling from any and all fire damages arising from the exhaust pipe insulation as we would proceed only per their request and NOT by our recommendation or by city codes as their request is NOT acceptable per city codes as it poses an increased risk for fire. The customer refused to sign said waiver, so VIP Heating & Cooling does not feel comfortable proceeding with work outside our contract, especially when it directly violates city codes.

    I am rejecting this response because:
    Another contractor insulated the pipes that the respondent refused to insulate and the condensation and water leaking ceased. We will forward other contractors invoice as well as painter/drywall invoice to BBB to forward to respondent for payment to satisfy this claim.

    VIP will not be responsible for a payment to a third-party contractor for work not included in VIPs contract. VIP was not compensated for said work nor was it stipulated in the contractors scope.

    I am rejecting this response because:
    Respondent did not satisfy their contractual obligations of insulating attic ducts. Due to this negligence, leaking and damage occurred. We hired another contractor to mitigate the respondents damage therefore a lawsuit in *********** will be filed.
