I went to Longi's Auto Repair (DBA Glendale Auto) for a steering issue where the vehicle pulled to the right when driving. They came back with a quote broken down into two separate quotes, the first for the important things such as replace the inner and outer tie rod ends, tie rod adjusting sleeve, center link, idler and ****** arm, front shocks, engine belt. The second quote was for Control Arms and Front Bearings which could be done later. The original quote for this work was $1705.00. After I told them I was going to get a second opinion on the work form another ********, they offered to apply a senior and military discount bring the total to $1543.34. When I picked the truck up the truck was pulling to the right as it did before. I then returned the truck where Glendale Auto took it back to the alignment shop where they said everything was okay. In speaking with ****** (receptionist) he told me that **** would see if there is anything else he can do to lessen the pull. After **** claimed he improved the issue by tightening the steering box adjustment, when I picked the truck up and started driving home the truck was worst that when I originally brought it in. In fact he tightened the steering box worm gear so tight the the power steering would to allow the front wheels to center on their own which made the truck scary to drive. I called them when I got home where they stated this is all they can do and the issue now is that the control arms and front bearings need replacing. I took the truck to a second ******** (******* Auto Repair) to have them confirm what is wrong with the truck. They called before the work was done and said the steering box was completely out of specification and stated that I should not have been driving with this unsafe condition. I believe are unethical practices with quoting work that is not needed and allowing a customer to drive an unsafe vehicle.
