    My 17 yr old daughter took her prom dress into Stacy’s Stitching for alterations. Since I was at work, her beauty pageant friend went with who has had several experiences with alterations. Stacey told my child several times in this short visit if she would “ lay off the French fries at McDonald’s, her dress would fit her fine by prom.” Stacy does not know my daughter or her eating habits/health issues. My daughter left this appointment with an unfitted dress and crying and embarrassed. After work I went to speak with Stacy, think there must be something I’m missing. Stacy denied saying anything like that to my daughter but then “remembered” it when I gave her the comments she made word for word. She then came around her counter and kicked me out of her business telling me to take my business elsewhere. When is it appropriate to make comments on anyone’s weight/eating habits? When is it ok to make remarks like this to a child when making alterations to their wardrobe? Please be proceed with caution when considering this business for your alteration needs.
