My ongoing encounter with attorney *********************** and the Semrad Law Firm has been nothing short of a nightmare. I feel compelled to share my experience to warn others about the utterly appalling services provided by this firm. From their abysmal communication practices to their blatant disregard for clients' well-being, it is evident that their primary concern is solely focused on extracting money rather than providing competent legal representation.1. Inaccessible Communication Channels:Attempting to reach anyone at the Semrad Law Firm, particularly ***********************, has been an exercise in futility. Their phone lines are seemingly permanently engaged, leaving clients stranded and unable to obtain even the simplest information or updates regarding their cases. The mere act of updating contact information is excruciating as emails are consistently ignored. As of today, the court still is not aware of my current mailing address, and I do not receive any communications from the court because of this.2. Negligence in Post-Case Support:Following the filing of my case and the court-ordered legal fees, I was left in a state of complete abandonment. The Semrad Law Firm displayed a shocking lack of interest in providing basic information. Everything I have learned about the bankruptcy process has come from ****** and NOT my attorney.3. Money-Driven Attitude:It became abundantly clear that the primary motive of *********************** and the Semrad Law Firm is financial gain, rather than genuinely helping their clients. The firm operates as a bankruptcy mill, where the sole focus lies on churning out cases as quickly as possible, without any regard for the individual needs and circumstances of their clients. The lack of personalized attention and care raises serious ethical concerns.I strongly advise anyone in need of legal services to steer clear of this firm, as their practices are not only unprofessional but also potentially detrimental.Business Response

I first contacted them on March 27th. It is now April 15th and I've received 0 communication from them. For the past 4 days I've been unable to reach my Attorney or anyone who works with her. Due to my situation, I am unable to travel. I've sent them every document requested of me and signed everything that I've been shown. I'm not sure why, but it seems as I'm being avoided. I've left multiple messages and sent multiple emails without any return communication.Initial Complaint

This is in regards to my deceased dads vehicle. Further action is needed due to the lack of response from Semrad Law Firm also known as debt stoppers. Debt stoppers promised to have the original title sent to our direct address after my dad's debt was paid off. The debt was paid in full November 2022.The title was sent by flag ship who is the original title holder to an incorrect address. When asked to have another title sent to the correct address Flag ship stated they would not and they would only send a release of Lien. The ****** of ***** Vehicles in Indiana is wanting the original title in order to have the vehicle registered . Debt stoppers who promised to help us obtain the title will not respond to any emails after they have gotten paid. We believe the employees at both businesses have a blatant disregard for people who they know to be in financial trouble as the communication with staff from both businesses since ********************************* helping and unprofessional communication.Business Response

What a harsh response. There was never an issue with me being a contact for my mom when I was making the payments. Semrad has not tried to resolve the issue, they simply washed their hands of the matter after receiving all payments. Semrad made promises which I have in writing about helping me to get the title. My mom and I have been truthful about the situation concerning my das and my dads brother and mother. We did things legally and honestly while trusting Semrad to help us. Now they are using information to totally remove themselves from a situation in which they were the 3rd party. We are simply asking for help to get the title sent to the correct address. Will you guys help us as promised or not?
Sincerely,

On January 13, 2023 I came to Debt Stoppers to see about getting a Chapter 13.I was handled by a guy named ********************. He talked very fast and barley answered any of my questions. He acted as if he didn't want my wife to be there but he needed her check stubs even though she was not apart of the Chtr 13.After he asked me to sign all paperwork to file and pay the $350 to start the filing process, I asked him if I could ask him any questions just in case, I decided I did not want it to be filed. He told me all the questions I have is in the paperwork he gave me a copy of and he had other people to take care of and I could call him if I changed my mind and also gave me his personal card upon leaving his office stating that I could call him directly and also to have my wife send over the pay stubs as soon as possible. Later that evening my wife sent over her pay stubs and I sent over the last ones I needed to complete the filing process. I then emailed him and asked that he hold out on filing because I wanted to wait. On the morning of Saturday 01.14.2023, I made several calls to get in contact to stop them from filing . On 01.15.2023 I still had not heard back from him. At 11:30 AM on 1.15.2023 I get a notification from Experian saying that a chapter 13 has been filed in my name. I then get a call back from the front desk clerks letting me know that it has been filed and they did receive my emails, but they did not get to them until after they filed. I was then told I need to come in once my attorney actually calls me back to sign paperwork to stop the process. Later that evening I get a call from the attorney letting me know I will still have to come to court and that I owe them $4, ****** in attorney fees even if I do vacate the chapter 13 and that it will stay on my credit for 5 years from that day. They got the $350. I don't think I should owe anything else since I am not going through with their services. They are getting money for nothing if I pay them $4100Initial Complaint

I file for chapter 13 bankruptcy July 2022 to keep my vehicle and to consolidate all debt. I attend the hearing and set up a payment plan where my work check would be garnished. All payments was received on time weekly. I received no calls or letters in the mail or emails so I assumed everything was ok. Well October 24 my car was repossessed for nonpayment since May. I have no clue where the the money that was taken for my checks was used for. I tried contacting them I left messages but received no calls back. I dug through my email and found Ndc.org where I can check the status of my case and unknown to me my cases was dismissed oct 10th. But payments are still being taken from me as in Oct 21 I paid nearly 2k to them but only about $200 was used towards my vehicle. Which is now repossessed. They need to do better in communicating whats going on.Business Response

**************** would not confirm without proof of client's insurance expenses, as the amount claimed in the Petition was unusually high. We reached out to client about this several times. Client ignored us. We called and emailed. Client continued to ignore us. **** was eventually dismissed for unreasonable delay as client would not provide us proof of the claimed insurance expense or even proof that she had valid insurance. Client did not respond to us, so we could amend schedules to remove it, which would have also required a payment increase on plan payments.
The dismissal order was also sent to her employer to get deductions stopped. We even sent it again on November 11th, when we were informed by client that they had not yet stopped deducting from her checks.
Once they finally stop deducting and the Trustee can close out her case, all funds received after the dismissal date will be refunded to client by the **************** to the address on file with the Court.
