I went in to the *** College of Dentistry for an oral surgery consultation (Sept 2023) which was supposed to only have a $20-30 co-pay. I was very clear that I didn't want to incur any additional out of pocket expense. They said they needed to do an x-ray, but that it was fully covered by insurance. No followup was required after the oral surgury consult because it was only a precaution (suggested by a dentist there) and it turned out that everything was fine, so I checked out and left with no indication of other fees. Then, when I went back months later to see my regular dentist, they told me that I have a $340 balance for that x-ray, although I never received any bill or any indication when I left that I would be billed. I went in to try to clear this up but they said they couldn't do anything and would have a supervisor call me. I asked for a copy of the receipt (i agreed to pay the the $24 consult co-pay) and list of charges, and what they gave me still doesn't have any itemized indication of what they are billing me for, just a $340 balance. I am still waiting for that call from the supervisor, but I am not optimistic. I tried calling them but the mailbox is full. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced and wish to let others know about their predatory business practices.

    Business Response

    Date: 04/18/2024

    Good afternoon,

An adjustment request has been submitted to our billing office on April 16, 2024 to adjust off the $340 x-ray balance. The clinic manager attempted to call the patient on April 16, 2024 but patient did not answer. A voicemail was left notifying the patient that the adjustment was submitted. On April 18, 2024, the clinic manager called the patient and stated that adjustment was processed and a receipt reflecting a zero balance was mailed to the patient's home address on record.

    Thank you,
